The months passed, and before anyone knew it, the toddlers were ready to celebrate their birthdays!

“Darling, you are looking lovely,” Jordan said, kissing his grand daughter on either cheek, “Are you exciting for the celebration?”

“Yes, Grandpa. You should see the backyard. I’ve got it all set up for Aurora and Berlin.” Delilah pulled Jordan towards the backyard.

Everything was set up for the small party. 

It was a small party, immediate family only - Autumn, Grandpa and Grandma Charlotte were included, but that was it.

Still, the enthusiasm was very strong. Everyone cheered loudly as Berlin prepared to blow out his candles.

“Jason, it’s 11am! Shouldn’t you be dressed by now?” Autumn admonished the teen. He might be almost an adult, but that didn’t mean he should get away with anything he wanted.

“If Berlin is going to be in his pjs to celebrate his birthday, that shouldn’t I be too?” Jason replied. He had only gotten up when Elle had yelled up the stairs that the party was about to begin.

“Make a wish, Berlin, but keep it a secret. Got it?” Justin asked.

“Got it,” Berlin replied as he blew out all his candles.

Next it was Aurora’s turn.

“Do you want my help to blow out the candles,” Delilah whispered in her sister’s ear.

The little girl shook her head.

“You’ve got this,” Delilah said.

“Happy birthday, Aurora!!” Elle called loudly. Jordan, Justin and Charlotte were cheering too.

Aurora managed to blow out all her candles herself.

At 6 years old, Berlin and Aurora are ready to start primary school

They also have their own ideas about fashion. Their Alien eyes preferring bright colors.

While everyone had recovered from their bout of sickness physically, Autumn had not quite gotten over the emotional toll.

“I’m not as young as I used to be. I better be careful. If I get sick, it’s much harder to recover than in my youth,” Autumn worried.

Between her own clear signs of aging, and Berlin and Aurora’s own signs of again, Autumn was beginning to worry about what was coming next. She was thinking more about more about what she wanted.

This led to her putting more effort in her time off to dating platforms, which allowed her to meet a very nice man.

“You look tense, Autumn. Let me give you a back rub,” Benjamin offered.

Autumn was starting to realize that she liked Benjamin VERY much.

After they started seeing each other more regularly, Justin was happy to allow Benjamin to visit and to spend time with the kids as well.

“Looks like you are ready for bed, Miss Aurora.” Autumn picked up the little girl. “Would you keep an eye on Berlin while I put her down?”

Benjamin was happy to comply.

“What’s the word, little man?” Benjamin asked.

“I was considering a mathematical equation and not a word,” Berlin replied.

Benjamin had no idea what to say in response to that.

“Those kids are pretty cute,” Benjamin said as they sat down for dinner, “How much longer is your contract?”

“I’m staying on at least a couple more years, but once Berlin and Aurora are school age, there will be less need to have me around. And when Justin marries Margery Hunt, there will be another adult around the house and no real need for me anymore.” Autumn was sad to think she would not be needed anymore.

“A couple of years? That tons of time to plan what comes next,” Benjamin assured her.

“What comes next? I look forward to finding out,” Autumn said as she kissed him. She did hope that there was a future for the two of them, but she could not help but reflect on her own age and that two years would bring her that much closer to death.

Spring - Days 4-7 - Household 14: Justin Davis; Jason, Delilah, Elle, Aurora and Berlin Davis; Autumn Simpson

The Davis kids are all very close with each other and with their father, as noted when they were first introduced.

“Was it the most amazing trip ever?” Elle kept asking after Justin, Jason and Delilah got home from the Islands.

“It was,” Delilah confirmed. “Jason is thinking of moving there forever, which would mean we would have to visit a lot.”

“Daddy, now that Aurora and Berlin are walking, are we going to get to go on trip with you too?” Elle had understood why she and the toddlers had been left behind, since they were little and Elle was filming scenes with Katherine, Ares and Helo for their movie. Still, she had been disappointed to miss the adventure.

“Um...maybe?” Justin wasn’t exactly sure. 

Recently, there had been an assessment done on the house. It hadn’t met the expectations for fire safety, and he had had to spend a pretty penny to add extra stairways that were up to code to their top floor.

Between that, the trip, Jason and Delilah’s college fund, and his plans to marry Margery, Justin was more broke than he wanted to admit. Plus, he had to find the money for Autumn - they simply couldn’t do without her.

“How’s Miss Aurora doing today?” Autumn asked as she helped the child out of bed. Aurora and Berlin were getting bigger. They would be school age in no time.

“Tell me about your new home in the Islands, Jason?” Berlin asked his brother.

“It’s not my home, buddy. But maybe. It was pretty awesome. We’ll have to go one day.”

“Am I allowed?” Berlin was over 5 years old, and understanding the complexity of the world for Aliens better than Jason did.

“Allowed?” Jason was taken aback. He hadn’t even thought about it, which made him feel like a jerk. “Yes, you are allowed to visit. But there are currently no Aliens living in the Islands...I’m not sure why.”

Berlin simply nodded, the information confirming what he already knew.

Justin had certainly never planned to be a single parent. It had been over 5 years since he had lost his wife, and he was only now getting ready to put himself out there.

He didn’t really remember how to do it, which had led to him flirting inappropriately with his very married step-aunt at his Dad’s wedding.

He did his best to honour Elisandra’s memory and to spend time with his children.

He trusted the Nanny, Autumn, to ensure that Aurora and Berlin learned all the skills they needed to have, but he also wanted to keep them connected to the Alien community in Huntsville. 

Venus Goldsun was a frequent visitor who often spent hours playing with the two toddlers.

Justin also made sure that Elle always got a big hug when he returned from work. 

But while the younger children just needed love and protection, now that he had them home, his older children were becoming more difficult.

Justin - Just where do you think you are going, young lady?

Delilah - No where?

Justin - That’s exactly right. You march right back up to bed!

Delilah - But Daddy...

Justin - Don’t, “But Daddy” me. I suppose Hunter is waiting for you?

Delilah - We weren’t going to do anything foolish.

Justin - It is the middle of the night. Sneaking out IS foolish. Now off to bed. You are grounded.

Grounded, Delilah spent more time at home with her younger siblings.

Elle looked up to her.

Elle - Will you show me how to dance? Do you think I will fall in love when I’m 15 too?

Delilah - I hope so!

She made sure Aurora was continuing to get stronger and stronger.

Delilah - Who’s taking a rocket ship to Sixam?

Aurora - Me! Me! Me!

And she helped Berlin develop his vocabulary even further.

Delilah - What does your bunny think about capitalism?

Berlin - Bunny knows capitalism is a flawed system.

Delilah - That’s a clever bunny.

Berlin - Berlin is also a clever bunny.

Delilah - Yes, you are.

She even found time to practice the piano, something she really had not had time for since she and Hunter started dating.

The youngest Davis children were thriving under Autumn’s care.

Aurora had learned to use the potty. Her vocabulary wasn’t quite were it needed to be, but it was coming along.

Berlin was communicating in impressive sentences. He was sure to be very charismatic when he got older.

Justin was delighted at the care Venus showed. She came over almost every day.

Elle was doing well in school, something she was thrilled to tell Autumn who had been helping her work on her homework.

But Elle wanted to tell her father her good news most of all.

Of course, all that hard work had her falling asleep on the couch before bed time, but she thought it was well worth it.

Huntsville Revived #90

While Delilah was grounded for trying to sneak out, Jason was free to come and go. He spent most of his free time at Red’s Famous 50′s Diner. It was THE place for teens to hang out in Nickelton.

Jason tried to flirt with girls.

Jason - Could you solve that equation on yesterday’s test? I thought it was impossible.

Meadow - Oh...It was a really easy problem...

And he tried to be a pool shark.

Jason - Apollo and I are going to beat you two, easily.

Charles - That’s big talk for someone who just struck out.

Apollo - I think you’re mixing up sports, there.

Apollo - What’s our next move?

Jason - We’ve got to get all of our balls in the pockets before they do.

Apollo - ...Right, the usual strategy, then?

Nathan - These two don’t have a clue!

Charles - Yup, we’ve got this in the bag.

Jason - I don’t need to win. It’s fine. I’m cool.

Apollo - Does that ever work on anyone?

Nathan - *Some poll shark*

Nathan - Once I get this shot, it’ll line me and Charles up to finish in 3 moves.

Jason - Hey, you want to dance?

Gabriella - Okay. Did you win at pool?

Apollo - We did as well as he’s about to do with you...

Later that night:

Jason - So even though we didn’t win at pool, I’m getting better. And a pretty girl danced with me, even though she left soon after that. But I’m going to continue to be awesome, and when you get older, I’ll teach you how to be awesome too.

Huntsville Revived #88

Spring - Day 1-3 - Household 14 - Justin; Jason; Delilah; Elle; Aurora; Berlin Davis; Autumn Simpson

Note - we are skipping Household 13 until Day 12 due to a rotation issue, not because of superstition or anything like that. Just in case you are keeping track ;)

Justin Davis is a 40 year old widower and father of 5. His wife, Elisandra, died not long after the birth of their daughter Elle. As a doctor, losing his wife was even more devastating.

A Knowledge/Fortune Sim, Justin also spends a lot of time working out to keep himself as fit as possible in the hopes of a long life.

Jason is a 15 year old Pleasure Seeker. He really wants to be good a pool, but he isn’t...yet.

Delilah and Jason are twins. She is a Family Sim and alread has plans to marry her sweetheart, Hunter Lawson. 

Elle is 7.5 years old. The only non-twin in the family, she is very independant, and not interested in having a nice photo of her taken.

Aurora Davis is 3.5 years old. She and her twin, Berlin, were Justin’s children via Alien Abduction.

Justin fought tooth and nail when the laws said his children were to be taken from him. It was a painful time, but thankfully they are restored to their rightful home.

Five children for one parent is quite difficult.

So Autumn Simpson has been hired to be the live-in Nanny for the family.

At 63 years old and without a family of her own, this Family Sim has been welcomed with open arms by the children. Elle, Aurora and Berlin absolutely adore her.
