This photograph is of Teddy Tucker with the globster he discovered in May of 1988. The carcass is known as the Bermuda Blob and washed ashore on the sands of Mangrove Bay, Bermuda. Tucker took samples of the mystery creature and the samples were reportedly taken to a lab for study. A study was published in 1995 and it was determined that the “proportions of various amino acids in the Bermuda Blob were characteristic of ectothermic (cold-blooded) vertebrate collagen”. The people that conducted the study believe that the carcass was likely that of a shark.

The Bermuda Blob (more specifically Bermuda Blob 1) was discovered washed ashore by a fisherman named Ted Tucker in 1988. He described the creature as “2½ to 3 feet thick . . . very white and fibrous . . . with five 'arms or legs,' rather like a disfigured star.” Samples of this globster were tested in 1995 and the tests suggested it to either be a decomposing shark or ray. The samples were tested again years later and concluded to being part of a whale.
