When he had defeated Moff Gideon in order to rescue Grogu from the Imp's clutches, Din had won the right to carry the saber in question. The Darksaber. He only really knew of it now because Bo Katan had nearly had a conniption when he arrived to the pilot's chambers carrying the dark-infused weapon that belonged at one point to her clan.
That weapon now was the stars-damned heaviest thing he had ever carried or utilized in battle. And to make matters worse, he got plenty of dreams from the spirits of old kings. Joy.
"I had no other choice," Din wasn't even sure why he was arguing, Boba wasn't punishing him for this. "I know it sounds crazy, but I've been getting. Weird dreams."
And part of why he wanted to share this with Fett was because one of those old Manda'lor's in his restless dreams looked an awful lot like Boba.

📅 How long have you been roleplaying, and what got you started?

i roleplayed a little when i was younger, but it's been a bit over ten years since i last wrote. this week has actually been my first week on tumblr rp, so i'm still finding my feet! it's been so much fun rediscovering the hobby, & everyone's been incredibly welcoming ♡

He could still feel the death and the horror in the air. The lives lost, Jedi and otherwise: the Force mourned them and Tarre had always had a keenness to that pain. But for now, he let that pain pass through him: he could do nothing about it, unlike the situation before him.
Tarre had been at war, before. It never made it any easier: the battle was the simple part, far too often. This was always harder. And Tarre could have never turned his back on one of them, much less an ad.
And oh, this was certainly one of them, given the stubbornness. He wouldn't have blamed the little one for a worse reaction.
"You are Mandalorian." Tarre confirmed, easily, almost gently. Approvingly. "And that means being strong. But what do you think our Clans are for, little ad?" He asked him. "We are a community. We take care of our own, so that when one cannot be strong another covers for them."
And maybe philosophy was not the way to an ad's trust, but it might be a good distraction, for the moment.
"Let me be strong for you, for a little while, and then you can return the favor later." He offered. And then, "Because we should get out of here."
And figure out if the ad had family left, and how he'd come to be on the battlefield. But if war had taught Tarre anything it was that one never trusted the aftermath of a battle.

Dooku knew little of Mandalorians, as a group. He was far too young to have found himself in battle against them, and all he knew was story and legends and words of caution. He knew, however, that they had once waged war against the Jedi.
Whether one could face a Jedi on a one-on-one battle was not such a clear thing, however, and Dooku quite liked his chances.
What he did not like was the state of the creature currently being held in such a cruelly tight cage. It would have been beautiful, a being of wonder, if it weren't in such state. Dooku almost ached to approach it and soothe it and free it, if there hadn't been an enemy between them.
He was also not the kind of fool to act recklessly, when he knew that just freeing the creature could just doom it to starvation. Thoughtless kindness could be just as cruel as malice, after all.
Having the confirmation that the one before him was a bounty hunter was not the most calming of truths either.
"And would your employer approve of the state you are transporting it in?" He asked, in the end, one eyebrow raised and a fair bit of threat in his tone.
Even if Dooku himself looked far from truly composed, after his own brush with the circumstances that had led him there: he'd discarded his tabard and ended up stealing something far too close to armor for his tastes, when the tabard had not held itself together anymore.
What mattered was getting out of there, yes, and helping the creature, but it was not the only one there. And in truth, depending on who the bounty hunter's client was, he might not even oppose the transport. It had certainly been in a bad situation until now, after all.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, Leia could hear her old Master urging her to slow down. But Obi Wan wasn't here to guide her. Not right now.
Like always, she had plunged head first into danger to try and keep the Rebellion in line. And that meant facing bounty hunters who could take one of their best pilots (and her good friend) away from them. She wouldn't let it happen.
She wouldn't let anyone take her friends away ever again, if she could help it.
Scowling, the woman placed a gloved hand on her hip, and if looks could kill they would have shattered the other's helmet easily. "You're not going to lay a hand on Solo. I'm giving you one warning to leave it be, and that's it."

"Not much comfort in staying here either," he pointed out, a tension coiled in his core, wound tight as a spring, that had very little to do with the blaster pointed at his face just moments before.
The outside observer might not be able to tell the difference in their voices, the way they stood, even their appearance. If not for the work the Techno Union had done to him, Echo might have looked very similar to the one standing before him, if not perhaps a few years difference. They might have been brothers.
The irony was palpable.
I can't stop running. I can't rest. Not when there could be others that went through what I went through. I survived for a reason, I can't stop now.
It was what he wanted to say, but not something he'd ever dare say out loud. Not even to the Bad Batch, not even to Rex. Not even to Fives. All clones had the experience of constant war. It was what they were made for, designed for. And Echo didn't mind having a purpose, or at least he told himself that. Better to have something to strive for, right?
"So if you were sent to stop me, then maybe you should use that blaster," he pressed, chin bouncing slightly with the challenge. He didn't doubt the other would respond to the challenge, though. Not with what they had been bred to do, not with who they took their genetic makeup from, not with who they had all become with time. But Echo wasn't going to stop either, not when there were others clones being treated like so much refuse.
He wondered if the Empire knew they'd sent a clone to take out a clone. He wondered if they took a certain dark delight in the funny way the universe turned out.

So! I'm honor-bound to offer Old Republic shenanigans, so let's start there:
There's a whole span of time between Tarre coming back to Mandalore to him becoming Mand'alor that is all prepared for shenanigans, if you'd like an AU there. Because Tarre would absolutely enlist a bounty hunter or Mandalorian for either information or battle depending on the moment :3
Now, for a time far closer to the Empire or directly during it:
Rival bounty hunters? Occasional allies bounty hunters? Because Tarre needs money and it's a small world
Does Boba want to be haunted by a Mandalorian ghost? Because he can absolutely be haunted, and Tarre would say he's worth haunting
Alternatively, I can offer a time-displaced Tarre yoinking Boba away after Geonosis, because Kamino is not a good place and Tarre has opinions
And also... does Boba, during his time as a crime lord, want a Mandalorian lieutenant? Because Tarre would be both curious and competent, and he'd want to improve the lives of people as he figures out time. And, look, sometimes helping out a crime lord is what the Force wants.
