My proudest moment in Besiege
so in the second level pack, there is that one level where you have to destroy four flying airships. i am not good at making flying vehicles in that game, in fact im completely inept at it. so that was not an option for me.
thankfully using a ground vehicle was a viable option. so i constructed a simple vehicle with an extendable tower in the middle made of overlapping pistons. i have essentially made a giant metal punching machine to uppercut these airships. (with some cannons on it since one was too far up to hit.)
but there was another problem. there are these cows with bombs strapped to them that kamikaze bomb your contraption and set it on fire. so to combat this, i put a large metal poker kind of thing for the cows to run into instead. that way the cow explodes but nothing gets set on fire.
but there was another problem, the propellers holding the airships up would fall off and chop up my contraption when i punch the ships apart. and sometimes the cow would avoid the spear and wreak my contraption.
so in the end, i had basically made a metal gun-fist on a giant moving piston with a spear on the front that would uppercut the ships and then speed the hell away to avoid the propellers. it took me about an hour to finish the level, but i did and im proud of it.
