Gareth grabbed Felix by the collar of his shirt, pulling him closer to return the kiss. It was far better than being yelled at for once after returning from assignment. Maybe, if he could keep this up, they wouldn’t have to do the debriefing at all. Maybe.

James had never forgiven him for the way he’d gone about the break up, and learning later that Felix had slept with Wes was just another slap in the face. After that, he’d endeavored to avoid him as much as possible.…Which was, of course, easier said than done when they worked together. Even in meetings James tried to ignore him altogether–a petty move perhaps, but James wasn’t above being petty–and it had all worked out for him fairly well thus far. The meeting they’d been in had just concluded without James so much as looking in Felix’s direction a single time. He packed his things up to leave the room, only to notice as he slid by Felix that the rest of the agents had already filed out, leaving the two of them alone.He’d barely gotten two steps when Felix tugged him back and pressed a quick kiss to his lips. Frozen, James let it happen as his mind went absolutely blank before a sick sense of excitement rose within him at the thought that this might be Felix’s way of apologising, of smoothing things over between them. He’d like to say he didn’t return that kiss like his entire life depended on it, but he’d be lying.

It’s a tease, Merlin respects Felix’s skills above all else--the man was incredible at what he did. Didn’t stop him from occasionally trying to rile the other man. The jibe however is paired with a cup of tea placed next to the other man, and a gentle smile. 

    “Spot anything of note?”
