         they’ve faced a number of things,  from rival witches to murderous men to witch hunters.   all of these things and never once has zoe felt like she might be the strong one,  FEARLESS in the face of danger or adversity.   this is why it takes her by surprise when madison grabs her by the hand.   it sends a sense of DREAD through her bones.   what could be so AWFUL that it’s made madison montgomery,  of all people,  feel the need to take hold of her.

         a SINKING SENSATION in her gut,  she turns her head to face the other blonde.   everything feels HEIGHTENED at the moment.   she’ll likely wind up feeling SILLY,  she’s likely blowing this out of proportion.   she’s always been a worrier,  can’t help it.   always FELT too much.   “  what’s wrong?  ”   the question finally escapes her lips,  hidden away because she’s unsure she wants an answer to it.   “  is everything okay?  ”

          it   was   nothing ,      right ?      (      it   couldn’t   be      -      she   was   going   insane ,      wasn’t   she ?      )      and   yet   she   was   clutching   zoe’s   hand   tightly      -      as   if   her   life   really   DID   depend   on   in .      as   if   holding   onto   anything   could   calm   her   down      -      GROUND   HER .      she   could   only   hope   that   the   younger   witch   couldn’t   feel   the   way   the   starlet’s   hands   shook      -      couldn’t   hear   the   way   her   heart   was   pounding   hard   even   when   she   logically   knew   that   there   wasn’t   anything   there .      (      so   why   could   she   SWEAR   she   could   feel   another’s   presence ?      feel   foreign   hands   against   her   skin ?      )      it   made   her   stomach   churn .      

          yet ,      she’d   shake   her   head      -      a   motion   juxtaposed   by   the   way   she   clutched   the   other’s   hand .      no ,      it   was   nothing      -      all   in   her   head .      STUPID .      no   point   getting   zoe   any   more    w o r r i e d    about   it   than   she   already   was .      and   yet ,      her   heartbeat   wouldn’t   slow      -      grip   wouldn’t   loosen .      as   if   someone   was   standing   directly   behind   her .      she’d   swallow   hard      -      shake   her   head   again   in   an   attempt   to   REASSURE   herself   that   it   was   true ,      even   when   some   part   of   her   knew   it   wasn’t .

          .“      yeah ,      i’m    fine .      just ,      you   know ,      thought   i   saw   someone .      ”.      accompanied   by   a   deep ,      shaky   breath .      “      it’s   nothing .      ”

                             ❛ Last week,  I managed to go to the museum again...  You know,  an  haircut  &  a  shaving  really can do miracles.  NO ONE  recognized me. ❜    he was sincerely  impressed  by that mere fact.  As if he would have never believed that his face could  change  so much without  ❪or with,  for the matter❫  a beard.
