Happy Sunday morning! 🌞Here's a PSA to brighten your day. Last weekend, the east end community raised thousands of dollars at Fight the Famine fundraiser for four countries: Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia, and Nigeria. All are facing hunger, famine, and ongoing war; the UN has said it could be the worst humanitarian crisis since WWII. The coolest thing about this event is that it was grassroots from #haygroundschool to #bridgehamptonschool, working with the children throughout the Hamptons to teach them about advocacy, altruism, geography, current events, but through making art! We built these trees together out of donated fabrics. We cut them, we dyed them, we assembled them, and they were displayed at the event. The trees are two bottleneck trees, stacked with desert roses, and a dragons blood tree, all are examples of vegetation from the affected countries. Thank you to the other helping hands @easthamptonstar #sagharborexpress #ericalynnhuberty #rainiashare #bessrattray @gurneysmontauk @conju15 @dltnart @mercadito @abbeydrucker and everyone else!!!
