So I know you talked about all the Beifong babies, but could you speak more on the bubba of the family, Jian? I just think he deserves a spotlight for a lil bit <3

I completely agree. The bub deserves all the time in world and I’m ready to give it to him rn rn.

I have way too much to say about lil Jian Beifong—the boy who doesn’t grow beyond 4.5 years old because we said so <3

Where can one start talking about Bubba? He’s just such a special bb boy, who came as a surprise to his parents—not unlike his siblings—and who loves spending time with his family, his mama especially. Any time she has to head out for work or to run an errand, he whines just a bit or he latches onto her pant leg to make sure she either sticks around or packs him up and takes him with her. She really can’t ever say no to this boy; no one can, really.

Like every baby/kiddo, he’s got his quirks. They’re all a pain-in-the-butt, but they’re more hilarious than anything. He’s got this ~thing~ with water, wherein he loves playing in it, but hates being wet. His siblings (mainly Su) take advantage of this and try to pour water over him or get him damp in someway or another, causing him to holler out for his mama. He says he’s “wet wet wet” and that he needs “hep” with this distressed expression. He becomes stiff and just overall uncomfy, not making it simple to be saved lol. But mama takes it with a grain of salt bc once he’s dried up, he’s all smiles and cuddles

He also hates being dirty. One little stain, and he’s stressing, he needs a new outfit ASAP. Toph and Kanto learn early on to keep a few changes of clothes and a few extra blankies on hand just in case Jian gets himself messy at all lol

He’s so so close with his mama. He loves everyone in his family so much, but his bond with Toph is otherworldly. Born prematurely, Jian is nothing short of a miracle baby in every way that counts. They were all so so close to losing him (and toph, which we can address some other time, and will be addressed in the Brood fic), and everyone feels so lucky to have him in their life—within the Beifong household and otherwise.

But yes, back to his relationship with Toph lol. He’s so close with her and he spends every second he can with her, and when he’s not with Toph, he’s all over Lin, who reminds him of Mama.

He’s also very close to all his sisters, and Su loves to yank his chain whenever she gets the chance lol. She loves pranking her little bub because he’s just so gullible and such a good sport (which can sometimes make her feel bad about messing with him in the first place lmao. He loves spending time playing with them and hanging out with them, and they’re especially a great distraction when Toph’s not around.

Bubbie also likes stealing his family’s personal items to put into his little stash of things. He only grabs them because he wants to have all his family’s favorite things, like Toph’s hair ties or Kanto’s special hats, maybe even Su’s childhood charm bracelet. He just wants to be close to them when he can’t be.

In addition to this collection, he also has a collection of stuffed animals lmao. Way too many to count, and he sleeps with every single one of them. He’s buried in stuffies by the time he’s tucked in and he makes Toph and Kanto kiss them all goodnight when they to do him. He won’t sleep if they don’t, so he insists lol.

Last lil tidbit here because this is getting long lol — Jian loves his onesies, especially his dinosaur ones. He’s got a hoodie and a tail and everything. And he eventually hooks his entire family onto the whole Dino onesie thing, so they all get matching ones lol. One thing, though, is that he hates getting his dragging tail dirty, so he just carries it around like a bag, all cute.

There’s so much more to talk about!!!! Our little Bubbie is the cutest, bestest-ever boy, and I’m so happy he exists in our happy little AU :)

Nothing is ever sufficient when it comes to talking about Jian, but I hope this quenched your need for a little blurb about him, buddy! Thanks for sending this over and for sharing Jian with me in the first place :))
