i am of the sincere belief that if ur on ur computer a lot you should visually customize it to high hell and back not just for funsies but also because it has literally made me less depressed before. its kind of like how rearranging your bedroom is good for your brain, yknow. i do stuff like this every few months

i am making an addendum due to the bottle of wine in my system.

i am directly out of work due to data center development in north florida. i am directly out of work due to rapid flashing of capital in small towns being actively strangled by Christofascist conservative values - i walk to a church for aid and they spit in my face for being one of the few out LGBT people in town. i have been pushed to the edges of this place and told to scrape the dirt off the streets to eat.

data centers are moving in to rural florida because the people don't have the means to fight them off; our commissioners hear nothing but the rattling of change in their pockets because they have held these positions for years and remain unquestioned, unchallenged, and without consequence for the blatant corruption displayed every single day. we ARE protesting. we ARE fighting, and i know this because i fought personally with everything i had and lost to monetary gain. no amount of evidence and counsel could prepare for the absolute power these developers have when it comes to communities who can't protect themselves like a larger city might have, especially when our officials have been in the pocket of large developers before any of us had even caught wind of the projects.

NO one is immune, and i want to make that as clear as i possibly can. i worked for what i had believed was an honest, reputable facility dedicated to caring for animals, only to witness a writhing mass of corruption and poor practices blown open in my face the second i actually looked past my rose colored glasses. i'll carry the guilt with me until the day i die for ever being a part of something like that. money sat at the heart of it, but so too did the tourism industry wringing every last drop of life it can out of Florida as a whole.

i do believe life can be better, but i am ANGRY and i am guiltier for perpetuating that exploitative behavior myself - believing that i was doing good does not excuse me of that fact i was involved. it's just unfortunate that being bought and sold is what it took for me to realize just what was going on.
