How I Found This Song – I don’t exactly remember how I discovered Candy Hearts (a few years ago before they were called Best Ex), but it was probably on like Pandora or Spotify or iHeart Radio or something like that. No matter what, I was definitely glad I did!! I loved them when they were Candy Hearts, and I’m so excited to hear what’s next for them as Best Ex :1

Why I Recommend This Song – I’m so proud of Mariel because “Girlfriend” is INCREDIBLE!! It’s such a jam, and it’s so cute. Mariel has such a unique and lovely voice, and this song has such a nice vibe -- it’s perfect for summertime!! The lyrics are fun, and I love the melody of the chorus. I’m definitely going to be singing along to this one for quite a while. All Candy Hearts / Best Ex songs are so soothing, and this one is no exception. Mariel made the lyric video herself, and you can definitely tell she worked hard on it because it turned out incredible!! I’m so proud of Mariel and I can’t wait to hear the new EP when it comes out :1
