#bestbdaygift #2: this pic doesn't do this any justice, and I know most (new) Texas is predominantly judge on brisket, but my gift (to myself) was eating the most fulfilling, revelatory+most satisfying pork shoulder (this is BBQ, but I mean of ANY kind/preparation) I've ever had in the 39 years I've been on this earth. It had a kind of satisfying crusty bark like a great brisket, was super moist but then had this deep flavor that resonated with my soul so much it gave me (the good) shivers. And all this after obsessing about going to this place for over 4 years, waking up at 4am in Houston to make the trek to Lexington, TX to beat the crowds (I was 8th in line🙌)+also helping lil 9 month old Cillían battle his 1st fever giving me a total of 2 hours of sleep... And for this one unexpected bite, it was ALL worth it.😭 @snowsbbq is doing the gods work down there. They are the most masterful purveyors of pork in the BBQ scene (incl. their pork ribs) I've experienced by far, and I'm better off for having tried it and for having met the very charming+highly talented Tootsie Tomanetz+Kerry Bexley.👏👏👏 #fuckyeah 👍🇺🇸🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻😭😂😭 (at Snow's BBQ)
