Jayce taking note of all the jewelry you're drawn to and making it himself in the forge 🗣️
It couldn’t be any more beautiful. The gold practically glowed with the shine of the afternoon light reflecting off its surface. The layered cuff with its white marbled finish only highlighted the elegance of the bangle as you admired its craftsmanship. Two pieces of different material melded together in perfect harmony, the skill to bend such elements were calloused and cracked, but they held the box open for you to see with such care, you could only put the box aside to kiss the bare knuckles tenderly in quiet thanks.
Jayce huffed awkwardly, reaching for the box you put down.
“It’s a gift- for you. I wanted to make something special,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Something that would remind you of... us.”
“Of you?”
His blush doesn’t show on his cheeks but the way he glances away shyly.
“That part is silent.”
Your lips curved into a soft smile, and you let your fingers brush over the delicate marbling once more, feeling the coolness of the material under your touch. The melding of the gold and white marble was a work of art, a testament to Jayce’s meticulous craftsmanship and dedication.
“You put so much thought into this,” you whispered, your voice filled with awe. “It’s perfect.”
Jayce’s eyes flickered back to yours, the shyness in his gaze replaced by a glimmer of pride. “I wanted you to have something that no one else could give you. Something that’s a part of me, and a part of you. Together.”
You could feel the warmth in your chest spread as you looked at him, his eyes filled with a mixture of love and nervousness. The bangle in your hand felt heavier now, laden with meaning and emotions that words could scarcely convey.
“I love it,” you murmured, your fingers tracing the intricate patterns on the surface of his rough skin. “Thank you, Jayce. This means so much to me.”
Jayce’s tense shoulders relaxed slightly, a small, relieved smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He took a step closer, his hand brushing against yours, and in that moment, the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you standing there, bound by the gift of his creation.
