8/365 - 15 by Margie O'Hara Via Flickr: For Bestill52 class. Kim gives us such inspiration each week. This week was hanging bottles. Grabbed some rosemary from the garden that is still going strong for this hanging still life.

Autumn Gather
Our assignment to get outdoors and gather autumn items to make a "seasonal mood board" proved to be quite interesting.
We tend to think of Autumn colors as orange, red and yellow. After arranging my items, I noticed that what I chose was not the typical fall colors, but included shades of pinks and purples. I love the vivid colors that are still hanging on even as the season is changing!
Family Portrait Still-Life
I do not even have a photo of my Grandmother Walker. She died before I was born, and this is the only thing I have of hers. It has her name engraved on the back of the glass and "Washington, DC 1908" on the front. I know a little of what she was like by something that she choose to have engraved on such a big trip - Alabama to Washington, DC - at the turn of the century. I am hoping she would have liked the fabric accessories I used here. (Week 17)
Just for me...
Real-life Still-Life: When I can, I like to steal away a few minutes to just sit and play - just for myself. I'm not a great musician by far, but it's still nice to be able to work out kinks in my mind with a nice tune or two. What a great subject for a "Real-Life Still-Life" - complete with dust and scratches.

The Gnome Knows
Project - create a series: What fun - working with these little guys. You're always wondering what they are thinking! (Week 13)
