Hands down the best brunch in town! . . . . . . . #bestofthebrunch #brunchlovers #thebrunchlife #thebrunchlifechoseme #pierrehk #mandarinorientalhk (at Pierre at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong)
This week we arrived in Mexico for the third leg of our #TabascoWorldTour and we’re already excited by the many amazing brunch options available! Here are just a selection of our favourite, all of which should be washed down with a Bloody Maria!
Huevos Rancheros - Hemsley and Hemsley
Breakfast stuffed Poblano Pepeprs - A Spicy Perspective
This month, we’ve embarked upon the second leg of our #TabascoWorldTour. Our destination? The sunny skies of Northern Africa. Cuisine wise, North Africa has a lot to offer, especially when your looking for creative and new brunch dishes which really pack in the flavour.
Tori Avey - Shakshuka
Feasting At Home - Sweet Potato Hash With Poached Eggs and Harissa
Taste - Harissa Baked Beans
Yotam Ottolenghi - Chermoula Aubergine with Bulgar and Yoghurt
So this summer, Tabasco is going on a world tour. Sun, sea and (most importantly) a lot of snacks are coming our way, and we’ll be sharing it all with you lovely people. Stay tuned for some of the best recipe ideas and inspiration from the exotic cuisines we jet around the globe to.
First up is Italy. When it comes to brunch dishes from this part of the world, we really have been spoilt for choice. From parmasan eggs to ricotta hotcakes, it’s safe to say Italia has a lot to offer in the world of brunch…
Prosciutto & Parmesan Scramble, Siobhan Emma
Here at Tabasco, we’re big fans of a Prosciutto & Parmesan Scramble. So simple, so full of flavour and very much the type of dish you would only really have for brunch. This recipe removes the milk from scrambled eggs and calls instead, for melted butter to be mixed into beaten eggs. The result is thick and creamy scrambled eggs, all by using a little less cream. Oh the irony.
Cannoli Stuffed French Toast, Two Peas & Their Pod
If you’re in the mood for something sweet this weekend, look no further. This one really is decadent. Originally created, it seems, as a ruse for one half of ‘Two Peas & Their Pod’ to make the other a rather special valentines breakfast, we’re thinking the Cannoli influence and substantial amounts of ricotta cheese also certify it as a very Italian brunch. You might need a Bloody Mary to go alongside this one to add a bit of a savoury kick…
Spring Brunch Pizza, Zen Can Cook
Well we couldn't do Italy without featuring a brunch pizza now could we? This recipe from ‘Zen Can Cook’ is perfect for a spring-time Italian brunch. As Zen highlights, pizzas really are customisable - try out whatever brunch delights you fancy and enjoy!
Italian Trattoria Omelette, Chin Deep
Mozerella, meatballs and parmesan for brunch? We’re in. As you can guess, this is an inspired dish and leans more towards the ‘unch’ side of ‘brunch’. We would recommend this if you are having brunch for a smaller party, as cooking these omelettes en masse can get a bit stressful.
Ricotta Hotcakes, Nigella Lawson
If you’ve never had Ricotta Hotcakes, we suggest you clear your Saturday morning, spend today’s lunch money on Ricotta, grab an Aperol Spritz and try these immediately. Wondering what they actually are? We’ll leave that to Nigella: ‘If you imagine the flavour of cheesecake combined with a texture that's best, if wordily, described as a kind of souffled griddle cake, you're somewhere near getting the measure of these.’ We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
So it’s official: spring has sprung. This past week the weather has turned from grey and wintery to hot hot hot, which puts us in the mood for one thing: some serious al fresco brunching. Looking for the best spots in London? Look no further…
The Summerhouse, Little Venice
So it’s all in the name with this one... and as it suggests, it really is the perfect summer brunch location. Serving brunch classics, such as Eggs Benedict, French Toast and a particularly lovely Flat Mushroom on Toast dish. Head there for canal-side tranquillity and a guaranteed summer feeling.
Beagle, Hoxton
Situated beneath the arches of Hoxton station, and just opposite the Geffrye Museum, Beagle is definitely worth a special visit if your keen on a good brunch. They have a large outdoor seating area which tends to be buzzy with brunchers all day during the weekends. We’d recommend the Blood chorizo, chickpeas and fried duck egg.
Caravan, Exmouth Market
Exmouth Market in itself, is one of London’s finest brunch (or for that matter, breakfast lunch or dinner) spots in London. At the bottom of this beautiful street, on which you are spoiled for choice when it comes to eateries, sits the original Caravan restaurant. (They now have another in Kings Cross). Serving up unique and sublime dishes such as coconut bread, pumpkin waffle and kimchi pancake with pork belly and fried duck egg, Caravan certainly hits the spot when it comes to both food and location.
Pavillion, Victoria Park
As you can tell from the picture, the setting of Pavillion really speaks for itself and makes for an ideal summer brunch spot. If you have people visiting, or just fancy making a day of it, we’d recommend getting a Boris Bike and cycling down to Pavillion Cafe for brunch then renting a rowing boat and whiling the afternoon away.
Towpath
One of the best things about London in the summertime is spending long lazy weekend mornings sitting by Regents canal. If you’re after a good brunch - you need to pick your spot wisely. We’d recommend Towpath, which is just down from the Kingsland Road, and a short walk from Haggerston station.
Here at Tabasco, we believe Easter is a great time to get your brunch game on top form. Four long lazy days off work...it’s the perfect chance to try out those recipes you have been meaning to for ages.
Therefore, to help you spend the upcoming bank holiday wisely (in other words, brunching) we’ve put together a few brunch treats for you to try out this Easter weekend...
Egg and Pesto Stuffed Tomatoes
These egg and pesto stuffed tomatoes are the avid bruncher’s equivalent to a giant chocolate Easter Egg. Except perhaps, for the fact that they are savoury and small, as opposed to large and sweet. Pop on top of a slice of toast and start your day off with a spring in your step.
Hot Cross Cookies, What Olivia Did
As it’s Easter, we felt it important to include a sweet brunch treat as a must to try out this Bank Holiday. These Hot Cross Cookies from What Olivia Did are a great way to add a twist to Easter traditions.
Spring Leeks and Asparagus Tart, Food On Fifth
A really nice one to try if you are hosting a long brunch this weekend. This one dish is really filling and can feed a good ten people. Food On Fifth gives really nice step by step imagery as well, so you can’t go wrong. Get the Tabasco on the table and you’re good to go!
Zucchini Pancakes with Avocado + Egg:
So as we know, one of the key differences between us and our friends across the pond is that they call a courgette a zucchini. They are, essentially the exact same thing and whatever you want to call them they make the most delicious brunch fritters. Top with avocado, egg and a dash of Tabasco and you’ve got the perfect Easter brunch nest!
Here at Tabasco, we’re all about what makes #BestOfTheBrunch. Restaurants, recipes, inspiration - anything that makes brunch hot, we love. So when we found out there is now a site both named Best Of The Brunch (great minds eh?) and dedicated to booking exclusively breakfast and brunch meals we felt our prayers had been answered.
In association then, with the lovely folk over at Best Of The Brunch we’ve created a hotlist of our favourite quirky brunches featured on the site. We’ve got everything from all you can eat sushi brunch to roast brunch - AND the chance to win a free brunch for four!
Now that’s #BestOfTheBrunch...

The Magazine dining room features a flowing membrane roof, and columns that flood natural light into the room. Stunning glass walls also give the impression of dining in the surrounding garden, providing the perfect venue for the restaurant’s innovative dishes.
Now under the watchful eye of German born Head Chef Emmanuel Eger you can expect a considerate blend of both ingredients and tastes of British and European food.
Open for breakfast, all hot dishes are served with rustic Campaillou toast, gluten free bread or bread free. The poached Clarence Court eggs, bacon and hollandaise are a BOTB favourite.
