My evolution headcanon for Spinarak, including an alt. evolution: a repurposed Bug/Ghost-type Tuhead, with the male retaining its oni-inspired design, and a female variant with a jack-o-lantern design from one of the later builds.
Credit goes to Weedle and Bynine Studio (I assume did the art for the pumpkin beta Ariados.
I’m not drawing beta Spinarak, it’s got a unique sprite but the design is more or less just regular Spinarak. This Ariados is pretty different though, so here it is. It’s not a bad spider, but it’s a little too similar to Spinarak, so I can see why they redid it. It also feels a little too mundane to me, the sleeker design and weird top-legs of the final Ariados are more Pokemon-like.
