Hello! So I'm kinda new to the fandom, but I was thinking of trying to write something. I wanted to ask a few of the "newish" writers for some input about betas though. Do you use a beta? Has that helped you in your writing? And how did you ask them to help out? Thank you for your insight!!

Thanks for stopping by to ask about writing. I am glad that you are thinking of trying to write!
I do use a beta. I used to never use one, but I have found that using one is a great way to bounce ideas around. It has also helped me improve my writing skills, both with how I write and just general grammar and punctuation.
As far as asking someone to help, if you head over to @thelallybrochlibrary, we have a list of those people who have already “signed up” to help writers by being a beta. I would just find someone you think that you would like to beta your stories and just send them a message and ask if they are available to help. Just know that all of those who have signed up to be a beta may have things going on in their personal lives, so if they are unable to help - don’t take it personally. You can always find another person on the list who can help!
