Fuck you and your beta mode, staff
ok, but the new Patio feature is a really cool idea?
is anyone else stuck on beta mode, even if you toggle the option? i’m so pissed! i can’t find anything in the tags now
welp, i’m stuck in tumblr’s new beta mode
probably the thing i most hate already is how clearly it’s designed to force the modern web style of “your viewing is controlled by The Algorithm” that to be fair, was already present, but is all more noticeable now.
in particular, i’ve noticed that i’ve been forced into infinite scroll again, this time without the option to turn it off. i also can’t reblog in a new tab, unless i manually open the actual post in another tab and reblog from there. both features appear designed to force the standardized “scroll through an endless stream of content littered with unwanted ads, constantly losing your place and being forced back to the beginning where you will have to scroll past even more ads to find anything new”, and i already fucking hate.
anyway there might be further venting about this later, idk, i’m just frustrated, and want to make it clear that just because tumblr wants to dangle pretty new color palettes in front of me like shiny jangly keys in front of an infant doesn’t mean i’m going to forget that this sucks
So tumblr just put me on the beta mode dashbord...
never asked that???
A New App Siempo Will Make You Break Free From Your Mobile Addiction
It's no secret - we have become dependent on our electronic workmates. Especially smartphone became an essential daily gadget in today's world. For those of us who remember, it's hard to believe there was a time when there wasn't a computer on every desk and your phone couldn't fit in your pocket. But today look around and you will observe an obsessive attachment to the Smartphone.
Are you wanted to break free from your Smartphone addiction?? A new app is looking to help you put down your phones and be distraction-free.
What is Siempo?
Siempo, which is in a free Beta mode, launched in April 2018. It has a 4.2-star rating in the Google Play Store and thousands of downloads. It is an Android app that helps users curtails smartphone distractions. By turning your smartphone's background white and by replacing your flashy icons with bland ones, Siempo can be an important tool in the fight to end smartphone addiction.
Siempo co-founder and CEO Andrew Dunn told The Daily Pennsylvanian that "We want smartphones to be good for our well-being, for our mental health, for our productivity, for our sleep, for our relationships, and unfortunately, right now many of them are designed to be in the way of that.” So we're trying to reimagine the tools as being on our side, and having our best intentions in mind.
How Siempo works?
After installing, Siempo makes your home screen a calmer interface, without things like badged icons or colorful corporate logos. Here, you can personalize a message that appears when you unlock your phone – like a daily mantra – and in an update rolling out Wednesday, you’ll be able to set a custom background or turn on a dark mode....Read more....
…i have no idea what to do in this situation.
