Her little cat hoodie brings me joy

It isn’t entirely clear what you are referring to, but if you mean the hood on Chiaki’s cardigan, then I completely agree! I also feel that the hood is one of the most brilliant elements of her character design.

However, considering that the design of that hood was reused from the “devil hoodie” worn by Beta Nagito, I suspect that the motif might not actually be a cat.

This reuse of Beta Nagito’s design is mentioned in Komatsuzaki’s comment on Chiaki’s page in the art book (either the Danganronpa 2 standalone art book or the Danganronpa 1·2 Reload art book).

That said, I am not bringing this up because I want to correct anyone or point out a mistake. I have simply wanted to talk about this for quite some time, so I took the opportunity. In fact, I really like the idea that the design of Chiaki’s hood comes from Beta Nagito. In a way, it makes them feel almost like relatives, which I find charming. Well, since they were all designed by the same artist, you could say that every character in Danganronpa is related in that sense...😅

While drawing Beta Nagito again for the first time in a while, I also noticed that his hairstyle somewhat resembles Chihiro’s. (Though when the hood is removed, he actually has an ahoge that looks very similar to Makoto’s.)
