Okay so I love the angst of Leslie performing Jason’s autopsy,
HOWEVER
She’s a doctor, not a medical examiner/coroner.
Consider: Beth Granger, who later ends up befriending Simon “I am twenty dead teenagers stitched together” Dark and Tom “functionally immortal” Kirk, somehow doing Jason Todd-Wayne’s autopsy. Imagine her seeing the news of him returning to the family, with a story about witnesses protection, knowing full well it’s a lie because that boy was on her slab. She doesn’t freak out about it, though. She understands more than any other Gothamite that sometimes these things happen. She does, however, send him a letter. She tells him that his secret is safe with her, regardless of who or what brought him back, but she was the one to perform the autopsy (she knew it wasn’t a car crash, but understood why the Waynes didn’t tell the media it was clearly a kidnapping gone wrong. The state he was in was one of the most memorable cases she had ever encountered). She also said she knew a couple people with similar circumstances, if he was interested in meeting them.
It was odd talking to someone she had dissected, but Tom had shown up and had his bones and nerves snap back into place in front of her, so it wasn’t too strange. It didn’t take long for them to agree his circumstances were rather unique, as there were no scientists or masters of the occult involved. He simply… woke up.
As odd as meeting him was, he was a good kid, obviously trying to figure out where he fit in the world after it had moved on without him.
Odder still, was the fact that the Bats had started paying attention to her.
