      If anything, he had to admit that this all was very strange.

      He and Leonard had been friends for decades now, and dthat in and of itself was probably the only reason he believed his friend when he told Mick that someone else from their childhood had shown up.

      Sara had been a good friend of theirs - and something more, if he were honest - for most of his last few years in the foster system. But then something had happened; something about her father, about the future, about somewhere else... and the three of them had parted ways for a time.

      Why would she be back? But then, Leonard wouldn’t lie about this, and anyway, even though it was different, the woman’s voice still sounded familiar.

      Cautious, Mick reached out, fingers trailing lightly along the woman’s arm, then passing briefly over her face. She ‘looked’ different, but not quite... it was still Sara.

      More confused than emotional right now, Mick’s brow furrowed and he tilted his head slightly. “You’re a long way from home.” The silent why? lingered unbidden somewhere in his voice.
