Moscow was supposed to be the end of this persistent curiosity, yet it seemed now that it was only the mouth of the pitfall that would lead him to an early grave. Beth Harmon was a luminary- a flame that had caught Vasily in a choke-hold. From the moment he saw her eyes darken with the same hunger and madness that he holds- fervently staring at him as though she wanted to peel open his skin- he knew that she was going to dethrone him. But as he held her warm lithe form against his body- the sound of applause echoing around them like thunder; Vasily Borgov, consciously for the first time, was reminded of the fact that Beth Harmon was a beautiful woman.
