Its not even half way through the first month of the year and I’ve already felt depressed, sad, overwhelmed by emotions, and now all i want to do is heal.

Step one: Gym membership. Check

Step two: Eat healthy meals and take vitamins. Double check.

Bet me is romantic comedy written by Jennifer Crusie. This sassy novel is about Minevra Dobbs and Calvin Morrisey. Minerva believes in practicality and not some fairy tale bs where her Prince Charming will sweep her off her feets. When her tool of a boyfriend dumps her she thinks that she's going to die spinster with loads of cats and her mother will blame her for one more thing she did wrong in her life. But like in fairy tales her fairy godmother aka this badass best friend of hers points the sexy as sin dude Calvin. But turns up he is actually having a bet, with her now ex, that he can bag her in a month, which leads to awakening of her inner bitch. But here's the twist Calvin never agreed to the bet to bag her but to take her out to dinner. Her attitude towards him was scary but he loved her shoes. They parted with the good bye never to meet again but fate had some other plans. This is a witty, sassy and humourous piece. It talks about how we are so obsessed with a certain body type. It teaches us that however we look doesn't define us but how we feel about ourselves does. I love the wittiness of Minerva and how she grows to become more confident in her skin. This novels also points few lessons like , if you give your best than nothing is impossible. This is one of those novels which i can read over and over again and never get tired of. This is not the sappy old romance novels, this is a novel of chicken marsala, making new friends, if Thursdays, Elvis Costello as well as Presley and a cat, snow globes, great shoes and krispy Kreme doughnuts. Read it, you will laugh your worries away, this novel makes me happy, hopefully it will make you all feel same.
