Went on a book haul in Newtown today with Jennifer and Nicole! It was heaps fun! (also I bought one of those "blind date with a book" books and I got a David Malouf book. Both my sister and my dad have been insisting that I read his stuff for quite some time now, haha, so I suppose I have a good reason to now!)

I made this as part of Jennifer's birthday present- to go with The Night Circus. It's an amazing book so it made sense to make an artwork inspired by it!

Me and Jennifer went to Surry Hills today- partly for her birthday and partly for her geo assignment. It was lots of fun- we got photographed by street photographers for a street fashion blog!

today was great. Went to Glebe markets with Jennifer and Tanya- had lots of fun, and spent lots of money (oops, worth the fantastic new clothes).

I don't have any photos (I wish we'd took some today) but when I went to Gleebooks the woman working there told me that I looked like a "60's dream" with my dress and my hair- that was such a nice compliment, people who give honest compliments to strangers are the best kind of people.

Questions for me:

1. What do you like the most about your room?

This is a difficult question because my room is filled with colour and I love every bit of it- but probably my Kimbra poster (it's on my door, but that counts as being in my room), I saw her perform live at the Enmore Theatre last year- and I bought her poster too (it has her autograph on it too, which is pretty awesome- haven't met her though!)

2. What is your favourite book?

This is difficult because I can never chose one favourite thing. but I'd probably go with The Book Thief or The Night Circus or The Midnight Dress.

3. What is your favourite course on school?

Visual arts.

4. What music do you prefer?

I listen to indie music-but I guess that's a really general term to describe my music taste. I'm pretty open minded with music- I like a lot of Australian singers- like Clare Bowditch and Sarah Blasko. Kimbra is my favourite singer. I also like bands like San Cisco, Alpine, Saskwatch and I think that First Aid Kit are fantastic!

5. Can you play any instruments? If yes, which?

Yes, I play the violin!

6. If you had to choose between books and films, which would you choose?

Probably books- they're portable and you get to imagine every single detail- which is lots of fun!

7. What is your favourite animal?

Probably frogs. I made a story book about a frog called Albert for an assignment last year!

8. Do you have a dream job? If yes, which?

Yes, I want to be an illustrator!! I've always loved making art and I think making money out of something I love would be fantastic!

9. How old were you when you read your first fanfic?

I think 15 ...sometime last year- can't remember if it were after or before my birthday!

10. How many languages can you speak?

I can only speak english. But, having a Peruvian mother, I understand a bit of Spanish. And having a Polish father, I really wish I could at least understand more Polish than I do!

11. Do you prefer being inside or outside?

It really depends on the weather and the place! If it's cold outside then deffinetley inside. If it's hot outside- I prefer the indoors, with air-conditioning!

Yesteray me and some of my friends went to Luna Park, and we went into a "haunted house" that they'd set up. When I got scared I started shouting every Harry Potter spell that came into my head. Not a bad coping mechanism, I suppose...
