Schorndorf and Beutelsbach, in the Rems Valley, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, just east of Stuttgart.  Dave lived in Schorndorf in the summer of 1977 when he worked in a factory, Baisch Fabrik für Spezialestahlmöbel (Baisch Factory for Special Steel Furniture) in Beutelsbach.  Long story...quite a step back in history for him. 

The church in Beutelsbach was initially constructed at the end of the 11th century (see photo above).  Dave bought his first bottle of wine ever in his life at the Remstalkellerei (Rems Valley Winery).
