What if a mysterious disappearance of one of his childhood friends (I imagine Peter's mum adopted Rose and Jackie into the extended family at some point) had affected his choice to become a police officer?
What if Bev that Jackie has long phone calls with, is, you know, Bev?
And when Peter starts to learn magic, and they catch up with Rose, they get to compare their improbably young looking, long lived, war veteran, upholding the peace while not wanting recognition, crushes?
