Then and Now, My Someday that I Had Dreamed About in Beverly Hills

Someday. Someday... Tonight, I’ll be on Rodeo Drive for the 2nd night of #BOLDbh from 5-8 pm dancing to DJ @nikkipennie, indulging in the food trucks & enjoying live painting by @ericayoung_ at Battaglia. But before I’m dancing in the streets tonight, I want to take you back to another time for me in Beverly Hills. Back when I was the runner and shopper for Barbra Streisand, in a beige courdoroy vintage skirt and Ugg boots. Back when this Dallas-born-and-bred girl was starry-eyed and a little shaky as she walked into @tiffanyandco to get presents engraved, into @gearysbeverlyhills to pick up wedding gifts and into @natenaldeli to pick up soup. With confidence about as short as my skirt, I looked around me at this magical Oz-like city and said to myself, “Someday, Dawny...SOMEDAY.” And, I BELIEVED it. And, my “someday” then? It looked a little different than the “someday” that is now. But all of these yarns of my time on Rodeo - of walking up the stairs of Geary’s holding my skirt down, of ordering the same soup Barbra did so I could just sample what “someday” would taste like, of dreaming lofty, “unrealistic” dreams and wishing “Pollyanna-like” wishes - have woven my reality today. Today, my someday means partnering with #BOLDbh to bring the community together in celebration and shopping on Rodeo and sharing my experiences, visions and joy with hundreds of thousands on social media. And, those yarns of yesteryear also wove my unbelievable reality yesterday.

And, yesterday? Yesterday was a dream that started out with a 3-hour photo shoot across the streets of Beverly Hills with our current Mayor Gold, our former mayor (and, my mentor, dear friend and BOLD visionary) @lilibosse1, and culminated in emceeing the BOLD kickoff for thousands of Beverly Hills residents and Beverly Hills lovers last night.

So, trust the colorful, sometimes frayed, sometimes crossed, sometimes broken yarns of this cavalcade of a life, my friends, and weave those wishes into your “someday.” Your someday is waiting for you. Back from Texas, with some big - and, I mean, BIG - news! I am SO proud and honored to be teaming up with the City of Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive once again for another summer month of BOLD fun in Beverly Hills!!! You know what that means... @RodeoDrive will be open late - and, THE place to be, naturally - every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. And, it’s where you’ll find me all weekend long. Throughout the month of August, I’ll be on @RodeoDrive checking out the night’s attractions, participating in some not-to-be-missed entertainment, and hosting a few meet & greets and get-togethers of my own. Over the coming days, I’ll be sharing with you what all is in store for this summer’s #BOLDbh - because, trust me, you won’t want to miss a minute of it. And, to celebrate, I would personally like to invite you to our #BOLDBH kickoff party on Thursday, August 2nd from 5-9 pm on @RodeoDrive. If it’s anything like last summer’s - or, last holiday’s - kickoff party, it will be an epic night filled with magic and memories.✨✨ As for tonight?
