So...I don't usually talk a lot on here, I don't usually say much online at all, but I'm currently studying film, and so I inevitably see a lot of film criticism both online and hear it in my personal life

And...is anybody else like...so tired of justifying why they like their favorite characters because of the way modern media is portraying them? like...yeah...I know that thing you just watched with my favorite character was trash. But it didn't used to be trash. We used to have really good stuff with these characters. And yeah I'm still watching it because I love these characters, but that's not exactly me saying I love the direction being taken with them.

If you've been on my blog recently you know what this is about. Daredevil: Born Again has not lived up to the standards the original show set. Would it surprise you to learn that the original show has been praised in every single one of my film classes? All for different reasons. The tone, the style, the characterisations, everything was beautifully done. There's a lot more I could say about this but I'm not going to mostly because I've said too much of it in person to deaf ears already but...

Matt Murdock I will always love you. Foggy Nelson you got me through some of the hardest nights of my life. Karen Page, Frank Castle...all of you. Netflix Daredevil you are a cornerstone for why I do what I do. I don't agree with what Disney has done to you. I don't think it's right that people will base their judgements off of the failures of this new show.

I hope someday if I become good enough at what I do I'll be able to create something that inspires someone as much as you've inspired me.

I'll continue defending you until the day I die.

I don't even get to have any of the COOL religious guilt motifs. No crosses, no stained glass, no intricate and beautiful artwork...how am I supposed to convey my terror with an empty sunday school classroom full of dusty chairs? it's never quite dark in there. it always smells like chalk. i took a girl by the hand and kissed her on the stage behind closed curtains, the only place it really was purely dark, and i think in that moment we both knew we didn't get to go to heaven. and i can't reconcile the guilt of knowing i let her love me. i'm learning to come to terms with the fact that i've lost my salvation but what kind of demon would take hers away from her too?

Lucifer was said to be the angel in charge of all heavenly music before he fell. I tried to create some kind of tone that would replicate what that sound would be. I barred myself from using earthly instruments, wondering what holy things existed in this realm that I could use. I decided Lucifer must have been able to sing with a voice of all people. That if humans were made in God's image, their voices must sound like Him too.

But I found in my pursuit that combining the voices of every human on earth didn't sound like music.

It sounds like screams.

confession time i had to dig a grave today and i really dont have much experience doing that so i knew i was going to end up being outside for a long time in the hot sun (and i'm a ghastly pale individual) so i knew i'd get sunburned so before i went out i was looking for something long sleeved and with a hood and the only thing i could find was this sucky spirit halloween grim reaper cloak so i put that on and went to go dig this grave (BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE ANYWAY) and it got really hot outside so i laid down for a minute and ended up falling asleep next to this grave and i woke up to somebody poking me with my own shovel and when i moved they screamed
