Valley of the Silk Sky: "Medicine; Run" - page 1

"Medicine; Run" is a 16-page short story, which was originally published in black & white in the Beyond Anthology. I've remastered it to be in full color, with some edits to bring the story more in line with official VotSS canon.

For the next few months I'll be running this story as a webcomic here on the Valley of the Silk Sky tumblr, over on the main Valley of the Silk Sky website, and on my Patreon. Check back each week for a new page!

It means so much to be part of an anthology centering queer and trans stories. There’s over 350 pages from 39 amazing artists and writers, the volume is huge. Many thanks to editors Taneka Stotts and Sfé R. Monster for organizing this.

I realized I never posted anything about my comic for the second volume of the Beyond Anthology (currently funding on Kickstarter!). 

It’s called Petrichor, and it’s a post-apocalyptic story about three people living and loving and changing after the end of the world.  There’s wind turbines and a forest ocean full of uncertain creatures.  It’s one of the most true stories I’ve ever made, and I’m really excited (and a little nervous) about it.

I’m so lucky to have been able to work with Jam (of Wasted Talent) on this comic.  I’ve written and drawn it, and Jam has handled inks, but it’s very much been shared, and Jam has helped a lot as I’ve worked to put this story in order.

The new Beyond Anthology Kickstarter is over halfway done and doing well! Thanks for having a look and helping make this book possible.

Here’s some development drawing I did that I didn’t know would turn into my story for the book, but did. I worked out a whole bunch of worldbuildingy detail about the central conceits of the story’s setting, but ended up dealing with it pretty loosely and abstractly
