Across an Empty Land [Closed]

Dana toyed with her phone in her hands, laying back on her bed. She let out a soft sigh as she felt the knot in her stomach tighten. She had skipped school to simply stay home and feel like she was going to be sick thanks to her emotions all mixing together. After a few more moments of thinking, Dana dialed Terry's number and lifted it to her ear. She spoke quickly, even if it was voicemail that answered. "Terry, come over, please. I... I need you here."

Break on Through Beyond the Other Side: Batman meets Owlman

Terry McGinnis had a life most people would envy. He had a great home, a job that had what most people considered to be an endless supply of creds coming in. He could live in high society and could live in more than just content. Of course on the surface he was the executive assistant of Wayne Corp's CEO, Thomas Wayne Jr.

It wasn't Terry McGinnis, Batman, who lived so comfortably. In another world where the morality was scewed in a different way, Terry McGinnis was Owlman. The terror of the night, the winged menace of society plagued Gotham and reaped its rewards.

The Crime Syndicate Unlimited was working on the latest venture would need a particular item. Unfortunately, said item was not around. No matter what he looked into, no matter how many simulations were run, the item could not be created. The resources were no longer around. At least, not in this world.

His boss had explained that while they were out of luck in one world, there were still possibilities. Being narrow minded, especially in such a large multiverse, was foolish. He had his orders and he knew what to do. With a device attached to his suit, Terry in his suit was brought over to another world. Funny...Gotham didn't look like a carbon copy of this.

Moving quickly, he located his first target. Wayne Industries was working on an unstable isotope that would be crucial for this part. Slipping into the place was easy enough. A security guard strangled to death, turning off the silent alarms and cameras and this would be an easy theft.

What could possibly happen, he thought as he ventured into the labs.

Break Out

Orion Powers was bored out of her skull. Poetry was just something she would never get. She curled her fingers on the desk and glanced up at the teacher with the most pathetic look she could muster. "Miss Langley? I-I'm not feeling well." She clutched her stomach in a display of what she hoped was passable for cramps. There was a brief spark of recognition in the older woman's eyes. Bingo. "Alright, Orion. But make it fast." She said, handing the girl the bathroom pass. "Thank you." She murmured before slouching out the door. Sucker. Once in the bathroom, she pocketed the pass and climbed up on top of a toilet, opening the window and squirming through. This was a common routine for her. When she was bored, or anxious, or stressed, she would make herself disappear, easy as that. Dropping down on to the sidewalk, she began to stroll. Maybe she'd get a new vid disk. She had the whole day to good off now, after all.
