US soldiers examine a downed German Bf-109 - Belgium, Jan 1945
Bf-109G-8 piloted by Heimo Emmerstorfer, a German Recon Pilot. The day after WW2 ended he narrowly escapes the Soviets and flies his Bf-109 into Austria, safely belly landing his Bf-109 on a field in Haibach, Austria and walks to his parents house.

Hans-Joachim Marseille's Battle of Britain Bf-109 "White 14" at Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar
She's also the only airworthy Bf-109 in the UK and the only airworthy Bf-109 that fought in the Battle of Britain, although she hasn't flown in a few years :(
B-17 Flying Fortresses battle Me 109s over Europe 😳
One of the 5 Bf-109🇩🇪 aircraft received by 🇯🇵 for evaluation.
The 🇯🇵 interest was not so much focused on the structure of the ✈️ itself, but rather on the engine.
This contributed to the creation of the Kawasaki
Ki-61 "Hien", which used a license-built version of the 🇩🇪 DB601 engine, called the Ha40.
