Just uploaded a chapter of Change of Plans, here it is, and I wanted to talk about something from it. I will be talking about what happened in the new chapter, so if you want to read that, go ahead.

I don't think it's confirmed, but I headcanon that Hoaxe gains the ability to understand Ancient Roach after getting crushed by the crystal. I am saying this as Hoaxe was able to read the tablet to get to the Everlasting Sapling

In-game, he wouldn't realize he understands the roach text until he takes over the Wasp Kingdom. When looking back at the records to try to find the artifact, he realizes he could understand the text. The crown helps him to read well, as I headcanon Hoaxe to struggle with reading and writing.

In Change of Plans, he would realize he understands the roach language when he could understand what Leif was saying in Snakemouth Den. I just uploaded the chapter if you want to read it, but Kabbu and Vi will realize it first, as he is just talking to Leif with no problem understanding him as he answers his questions. Though when coming across any of the tablets in Snakemouth, Hoaxe avoids them as he struggles to read both Ancient Roach and Bugnish and doesn't want to appear unintelligent.

He is quite connected to Leif in general, thanks to the crystals within both of them. They can both sense each other, in general, or when either of them casts spells. In my mind, I am playing around with the idea of Hoaxe leaving or getting separated from the group for some reason, and Leif realizes how much stress and anger he holds, and how messed up Hoaxe is. But pretty much one way, with only Leif able to feel and eventually read Hoaxe. Hoaxe, on the other hand, wouldn't be able to understand how Leif is feeling, as his feelings are much more underwhelming then Hoaxe.

(This is making me play around with the idea of shipping them in the story, or just having a sort of connection that no other bugs have. But we'll see how consistently I write this to get that far ahead.)

Regardless of what I chose, it is a dynamic that would be different and interesting compared to the other two bugs of Team Snakemouth.

Horned Wasp King

I wouldn't exactly call this crossover art, but I mixed the Wasp King and the Horned King(from Black Cauldron) and made this. However, the 'horns' in this drawing are cordyceps fungus. Honesty, it would be an interesting au if he got infected with cordyceps or it possessed his body.

Trying to get the motivation to write Change of Plans, so hopefully drawing the soggy mess of a fly would motivate me.

While I was drawing this, I realized I might edit some of the fic before uploading the next chapter, as it has been quite a while since I uploaded a chapter, and I have a couple of changes. Well, only one, and that would be the clothes. He stays at the Termite Capitol, and I think it would be cool for him to wear some amount of blue. I am aware that Queen's caretakers are the only ones who would wear blue for the Queen; however, I would like to write that all termites wear some amount of blue for being some servant to the Queen, even if their only role is being a functioning member of society.

Anyways, I really need to work on this fic as I do think about it a bit. Hopefully you'll see something soon. No promises.

(Spoilery) Bug Fables Headcanon

When Hoaxe put on the crown, his magic surged, amplified by its power. It was evident in the way he used his magic, pitiful sparks turning to whirling blazes, but it was also evident in the aura around him.

Not only did he radiate power, but also pure, unbridled heat. When he returned to the Wasp Kingdom, the edges of the paper walls curled in his presence. If he dipped his hand in the fountain, it steamed. Anyone speaking to him had to fight the urge to fan their wings and cool themselves down.

Wasp nests are expertly insulated to the exact right temperature. They have to be for the larvae and for the proper function of the workers. But thoughts of the Kingdom's care fell to the wayside as Hoaxe used the crown to hook the minds of his people, and the insulation was not adjusted to accommodate his presence.

This constant output of heat soon left the Wasp Kingdom boiling. If the majority of the population weren't under mind control, it could've been managed by the fanning of wings. But as it stood, each Wasp could only hold their post with their wings down at their backs, unable to control their overheating bodies.

As exhaustion set in, the moments between wakefulness and slumber became moments of lucidity. Brief bursts of wing buzzing soon turned to sudden, violent attacks on the structural integrity of the Kingdom. Walls punched through, water pipes busted, anything to get a semblance of relief from the heat.

It was through these holes Team Snakemouth sneaked in.
