As many of you are, I'm sure, totally unaware...today is Bestie Day!
So I'd like to celebrate my Bestie, Jess. Or BFF Jess. Or Messy Jessie. Or Holly Wood. Or J-Li. (We liked nicknames).
Because I know no other way, here is a list of awesome things BFF Jess and I have done together!
1. We started writing "The Adventure of Bec and Jess" AKA "Story" when we were in 9th grade. It's the story of our lives in high school except we're super heroes. Upon discussions of starting Story again, Jess decided we should call it "Short Story Story," and the story goes on...
2. We built a mouse trap car in pre-calc in high school that worked really, really well when we were testing it but sucked during the competition. The teacher gave us one last try to make it work, so our teammate, Skyler, turned on "Final Countdown" and when the teacher wasn't looking, Jess shoved the car really hard. We got an A.
3. One time, we noticed that there was an America's Next Top Model Marathon on all weekend...so we watched the entire thing, we did not sleep.
4. In 8th grade, we built Jess a boyfriend, his name was Phil and he was made of a pillow, a volleyball and various items from around Jess' house.
5. When we first met, we hated each other (I thought Jess was stealing my friends and Jess thought I was a 7th grade drug pusher), but one day we were hanging out with a mutual friend, Mo. After several minutes of us making fun of Mo, we made up a song about him and have been friends ever since.
6. When I visited Jess in November, we made up an impromptu dance to Katy Perry's "Firework" in the car. It was Epic, everyone in traffic was so jealous.
7. We have successfully become the TPing Queens of Leavenworth, Prank Goddesses and one time we did underwater basket-weaving. (For Real)
8. For a math project in high school, we had to built a tower. The deal our teacher made with us was that once every group brought a base for their tower (a piece of wood), we could work on them in class. Jess agreed to bring the base to school. The day she was supposed to bring it, she was late to class. When she walked in, I leaned over and said, "Jess, did you bring the base?" She just stared at me for a few seconds, confused, and then started singing a bass line and playing air bass. This lead to the creation of our air band, Deception.
9. (This one is all Jess) We played Capture the Flag in the dark high school once during a band lock-in. We both got way too intense but Jess took the cake when she plunged out of the darkness at Hugo and sprained her toe tackling him.
So to conclude, Jess is the Best Bestie ever and I am beyond lucky to have her in my life. I'm also beyond excited to be moving to Denver to live with her in February.
My BFF could totally beat up your BFF. (She head-butts and bites.)
