fully prepared to be disagreed with here but imo 1x1 is the most misgendered character in forsaken. because she's always referred to as a man or with only one set of pronouns despite him using any. like even in fics where the author genders everyone correctly, 1x1 is a man, or is a woman bc if betrayed and it ticks me off. they're genderfluid & use any prns. use them for xem cmon man. i will pull prns out of my ass to prove my point.

alas, i fear you are entirely correct </3 i've said so before, but for as much grief as i give the devs, i will always give them credit for having pretty good representation when it comes to gender non conforming characters. unfortunately, sometimes the only way anyone will accept that a character is gnc is if they look completely gender ambiguous (and sometimes not even then, if 1x1 and two time are anything to go by)

Who the hell is Nosferatu.

Not gonna lie, I've stopped playing forsaken because I'm kinda falling out of the hyperfixation. But even from an 'outside' perspective, who the hell is that guy.

There was no hype, no explanation to why he was added, no apparent relation to the lore. He seems so out of place because every other character there has some relation to someone else, lore-wise. The devs can do whatever they want, but like, make it make sense. I have barely seen any content of him at all, which to me seems to indicate the disinterest the community has for him.

Dunno how unpopular this opinion might be, but forsaken's actually kinda lacking in its worldbuilding. And I don't mean the characters' backstories (although those are just a little bit lacking, too, so much content is community headcanons, especially with the more unpopular characters that get no attention with their lore), but also I'd love to know more about the Spectre and what is forsaken, exactly.

warning: gamer rant incoming but i legitimately hate nosferatu and everything he stands for

the reason i originally fell in love with forsaken was because the characters and the aesthetic felt like a love letter to old roblox. like i mentioned in other asks, i've been playing since about 2011-2012, so the nostalgia factor was and arguably still is super important to me. i liked how even the original characters still took clear inspiration from various aspects of roblox """lore""", like with two time's connection to the spawn symbol/spawnism.

enter nosferatu - a character with no clear inspiration aside from "vampire", a boring moveset, and lore that reads like it was slapped on at the last possible second. it almost feels like an insult, how clearly rushed he was.

i can say with pretty high confidence that not a single person was foaming at the mouth to have nosferatu as a killer. if they were going to add a new one, why not make it one of the countless killers that people have been begging for? you know, the ones that have been teased, scrapped, brought back, etc. only to end up in "i dunno, maybe ;)" territory for the rest of time. absolutely nobody wanted fucking nosferatu

but the forsaken devs have consistently proven over and over and over again that they don't actually care what the players - the ones keeping their lights on and their fandom alive - want. you're right in that they can do what they want, but if they keep doing whatever they want with no regard for the players' input, their game is gonna fizzle out just like so many others that went down the same path

nosferatu sticks out like a sore thumb, and i genuinely wish they'd never released him, because he feels like a symbol for how little care actually goes into the game now

I think something we, as fandoms in general, keep doing is reducing characters down to one or two characteristics. And honestly, it feels much more prominent here in the Forsaken fandom

Do you know the amount of things I've seen that reduce Shedletsky to a fat lazy chicken eater who's a bad swordsman? A LOT. It gets tiring, but it's also wrong on a character standpoint. Shedletsky is the BEST SFOTH fighter, rarely misses a slash, but because his players miss them in this game, others feel it justified to project their failings onto him instead

It's the same for other characters too, and don't get me STARTED on the infantilization of Noob and Taph. Sure, Noob is a scaredy cat, we love characters like that, but to basically always have them be a stuttering mess that's 3 seconds away from passing out is a problem

And Taph, oh Taph, that is a criminal. But just because they're mute, people treat them like a child that doesn't know any better

I'll stop here but I'm SICK of seeing it everywhere

flanderization is an issue in every fandom, yeah, but you're absolutely right in that it's a MAJOR issue in forsaken - and it is EXHAUSTING to deal with. the worst part is that even though certain characters (taph, 7n7, shedletsky, etc) get it the worst, every single character is subject to it in one way or another. two time gets boiled down to "scary cultist", chance gets boiled down to "gambler who misses gunshot", and like you said, noob gets reduced to "s-s-s-s-s-scared". like anyone wouldn't be in that scenario?!

it sucks, because a lot of the time i can't even really blame people for it. after all, the devs/writers are guilty of it too, though to a much lesser extent. i get forsaken's audience skews younger, but kids aren't dumb. they can handle a character with more than a couple of personality traits

gen insane what owners and mishandling update direction does

I wish we could have a better everything

183k would still be a super respectable number if the game hadn't been pulling almost double that just a few weeks ago. people are sick of the way the game's been going and it's starting to show. how long until the player count becomes under 100k? under 50k? under 10k? they need to take accountability and start fixing things NOW, or that's what forsaken's future is gonna look like

In the few times that some people acknowledge that Shedletsky is fat, they do so to mock him. I can understand the occasional, mild weight joke, but there’s a point where you’re just writing “I HATE FAT PEOPLE” on your forehead lmao.

When mentioning a character that would absolutely go down on food, most folk don’t even mention noob (who was stated to be a foodie) they immediately go to start blaming John.

I like a gluttonous Shedletsky as much as anyone, but I hate that it’s used to make him the ass of the joke instead of part of it :(

i've talked about this before in tags but i legitimately can't see noob as skinny. like it is so baked in my mind that they're fat to the point where when i see fanart of them where they're drawn skinny i usually have to do a double take. noob is a beautiful fat they and i will not hear an OUNCE of argument

as for shedletsky, i've gotten a lot of similar asks, and pretty much everything i said there applies here. i don't know why fatphobia is such an issue in the forsaken fandom, but here we are

I was going to talk about the normativity aspect, but my brain just shut down the moment I wrote it, but the Forsaken fandom really makes Noob666 the most heteronormative ship in the entire fandom, considering that both characters are genderfluid, They often pick up on the fact that 666's form is more "monstrous" and Noob has more fem-presenting skins (Beauty and the Beast bullshit ass)

The worst part is that people would only take Guest666's gender identity more seriously if he had the same number of renders with different clothes like Noob's, but for "certain people" If you wear gender-neutral clothing (the Guest only wear the same hoddie in this case), it automatically makes them "Masc", I've even seen people get angry because ppl use feminine or neutral pronouns for Guest, even though??? She literally any pronouns
