Thank you for the tags, @elceewunjo and @missfortunetherogue! It was fun learning what you're up to :3
Gently tagging @litsenn, @wild-surge, @spillingteanotpermitted, @baelthi, @ranger-jahen, @the-red-drow, @riddlerosehearts (no pressure, and if you've done this already, feel free to drop me a link).
What are you currently working on?
I have a lot of projects open, so I switch between them depending on mood, energy level and time available as some require less effort, some more. My main focus is creating a short story about little Yae and his parents and a Shadowheart x Nocturne vp for the @coloursofthegate zine. I daresay I'm quite happy with my progress so far (and despite life being a lot, I was on time for all check-ins so far, yay!).
Your latest VP (even a WIP)
Ta-dah. Maybe it's not very showy or artsy, but I'm really happy how these turned out, because I have the feeling I managed to make the scene look fairly natural. Also I used BoneZone for both poses and had so much fun with it. I was so happy seeing how the characters come to life the way I imagined. (Creating some body horror abominations just to figure things out was hilarious, too.)
I admire modders for all the time they put into creating free content. What I wish there was more of, it's more “mundane”, everyday poses. But I understand not everyone is interested in those. I was THIS CLOSE to starting learning Blender myself (I might still be x) but for now, I dodged the blend–, er, bullet). And then, BoneZone happened.
Kirian’s pose was adjusted from a BT2 pose, I rotated eir right forearm and manipulated the fingers to make em hold the apple (have you noticed how big fruits are in BG3? I had to shrink it so it would fit in eir palm. I don't want to know what brand of fertilizers they use in Faerûn). I also had to adjust the other arm because of clipping, and to make it look like eir weight rested on it more naturally. And, obviously, make em look down on Xan.
With Xan, I took one of idle animations already present in the game and readjusted it to look like walking coming to a halt, with the left hand slightly extended, maybe combing through the tall grass, or maybe being slightly lifted to reach for something, in a indecisive way. I wanted the entire pose to convey a sort of hesitation.
I discovered I know nothing about anatomy x) So today's lesson is: if you move one joint, you have to adjust many others, especially the adjacent ones, in order to make the pose look natural. (And of course I forgot to save the poses before leaving LL... sigh.)
I also fiddled with the scene a bit, by placing a bucket in the tree and filling it with apples (and making Kirian sit next to it, obviously.) Though now that I think of it, that single apple in the tree is actually unnecessary and a bit distracting.
(Sorry this is long, I'm really bursting with joy over those tiny things and I needed to share x) )
What's your next project?
Can't say with any certainty :) Look at the first question. I decided to not push myself, when things are done, then they're done. Though I'll try to focus on finishing the vampire AU. It got even more out of hand to the point where I'm redecorating an in-game location and I think I might have gotten a little overwhelmed by how ambitious this has become... so I need to repeat the mantra that I'm doing this for fun. (And also find a day when I have a little more free time, the downside of vps is you can't exactly save in the midst of things.)
"What are your plans for tonight?"
"Anatomy studies."
Did this instead of going to sleep. I'm going to be so dead tomorrow ._.
(I thought I dodged Blender. Then BoneZone came knocking to my door.)
Also turns out the final pose didn't save because I used a question mark in the name, lol. Thankfully, I've been saving mid-progress.
