When the party comes back early to camp ✨
The original recipe did not in fact have any sunflower seeds. 🐹
“Omg go talk to him, you dork.”
Some lore-friendly Camp Duty headcanons for BG3 fic writers
Insert your Tav/Durge in any role they can fulfill at camp
Cooking: Gale (if he's not cooking, he's overseeing it, he's the only one who can actually cook something that tastes good so his input is mandatory), Halsin (infinite supply of Goodberries, very helpful in Act 2 where food rots quickly and food supply is limited), Shadowheart (Act 3, Heroes' Feast spell, Gale can finally take a well-earned rest)
Scouting/Camouflaging Camp: Astarion (obviously), Shadowheart (she cannot sneak as good as Astarion but her Trickery Domain would help stay hidden), Gale (with wards and illusions).
Hunting: Wyll (he might be a city boy, a duke's son and a warlock but he's the Blade of Frontiers. Wyll lives off the land and it shows in his ending where he breaks his pact and becomes a Ranger), Lae'zel (she's a soldier, she knows how to use martial weapons like bows), Karlach (she'd have a lot of fun hunting but also I'm guessing she's had experience hunting in the Hells and will appreciate a calmer environment to hunt in), Halsin (hunting in bear form), Scratch (help whoever is hunting to track prey), Minsc (Boo would tell him to be quiet...)
Camp Setup/Upkeep: Gale (Prestidigitation to setup and take down tents, to clean etc, but only if he's not too tired or wounded otherwise too bad, party needs to pitch in), Astarion (he's good at sewing (check his clothing in-game) so he'd be in charge of repairing tents and clothes and helping make sure Shadowheart has bandages for healing), Lae'zel (she's a soldier, she knows how to maintain weapons and armor)
Healing: Shadowheart (for obvious reasons but she should also carry a healer's kit for wounds that do not need wasting a healing spell slot), Gale (alchemy, he's in charge of the potions and brewing). Halsin and Jaheira (Goodberries, advanced healing)
Water Supply: Shadowheart (has access to Create/Destroy Water so she's in charge of supplying drinking water and bathing water until Halsin joins up), Halsin (him helping Shadowheart is very important in Act 2 for safe drinking water), Jaheira (she can help during Act 3 but once they reach the Elfsong Tavern it's no longer required)
Night Watch: There should be a watch rotation each night, two shifts. Preferably should have a high Perception character in each shift. If Resist!Durge is present in Act 2, they should be paired with their love interest during watch shifts to help them focus on their task and resist the Urge.
Poisonmaking: Minthara (Duh), Gale (also duh, but it's excellent opportunity for him to prove his worth to her if Minthara is present)
Animal Companions: Shadowheart (she's basically a disney princess lol, she's in charge of Scratch and the Owlbear Cub's wellbeing, everyone contributes but she's unofficially in charge), Halsin, Jaheira and Minsc come later to help out.

WHO IS COOKING IN THE CAMP?
In Baldur's Gate 3, the gang is clearly cooking in camp, or at least chewing through what they have collected, but after looking at everyone...
Shadowheart - Raised in a cult. Probably cafeteria-style meals. Likely had rations or only basic supplies. Conclusion: Cannot cook
Lae'zel - Raised in military school, essentially the same as Shadowheart. Probably used unfamiliar ingredients as well. Conclusion: Cannot cook
Astarion - Been eating bugs and rats for 200+ years. Even if he could remember being alive, he was a high ranking government official who likely hired people. Conclusion: Cannot cook.
Karlach - Been in hell. Probably no stranger to eating weird food and could make a mean stew. Knows how to make something out of nothing due to poor youth, but there are probably things that the group WILL NOT EAT that she makes. Budget cooking. Conclusion: Maybe?
Wyll - Noble birth, living on the road. I'd imagine he cooks fine for himself but would be too worried to inflict his road rations on the others. Conclusion: Cannot cook.
Halsin - Oh yes, definitely. You're gonna have the best foraged lunch of your life and it's gonna be really good for you. Conclusion: Can Cook
Gale - Been living independently for many years, and would refuse to suck at something he does every day. Probably knows the science of spices. Has lines about watching the cook pot. Conclusion: Can Cook
Durge - Depending on how you play your Durge, there are several things clear. They like blood, they've canonically drank various weird bodily substances, and have definitely committed several acts of cannibalism. Conclusion: Perhaps only meats - but are you sure you wanna eat what they're making?
Tav - Can widely vary. Good luck to the gang if your Tav cannot cook. Poor Gale.
Sometimes you really need a drink 🙃🍷
