if River were going to start a collection of small items she found appealing or interesting, what do you think the collection would be? c: ( @ranger-jahen )
Hey, thanks for the question! It's nice of you to ask. (Sorry this took so long ha) I think I've talked before about how she collects rocks and minerals; little shiny stones from chests and pockets of fallen enemies, or from rocky paths and riverbeds. It's a nice way to remember all the places she's been. She also likes to fidget with them / use them as makeshift stim toys, especially the smooth ones. The coolness of stone, the weight in her palm, the smoothness of its surface worn down by water or anxious fingers, the way facets catch the light when twisted just so... it's all soothing. This stemmed from me just naturally wanting to collect all the pretty rocks on my first playthrough, and became a part of her character. Yes, she keeps the Netherstones in the same pouch with the rest of her rock collection. She likes to give her rocks as gifts, too, usually by way of leaving them in some random location in/around the person's tent. I like the flavor text for malachite in the game--how it is believed to ward off bad dreams. This is the first rock she gives to Astarion, because even though she doesn't actually believe it helps with nightmares, the sentiment is still there. Astarion pretends to think it's foolish, but does keep the rock under his pillow anyway. I also believe I mentioned how River collects old journals and scraps of prayer or poetry that she finds on the party's travels, usually pried out of the hands of skeletons. Covers creased, scraped, marred with unidentifiable stains, coated in cobwebs, spine half torn. Pages brittle with age, yellowed or soft with mildew, dotted with spilt candlewax or blood spatter. These marks say as much as the words themselves, sometimes. The idea of someone's voice, their story, forever being trapped and hidden away makes River oddly sad. She likes to read and re-read them, as a way of keeping their spirits alive. She's not sure what she wants to do with all the books; maybe donate them to some scholar to use as primary sources in some niche historical research. Maybe she'll just keep them for herself, to connect with someone across time and death. Maybe there's something comforting about it, to her. She doesn't really understand it herself; only that she cares.
Send help, Lune is too cute. (Hespera & @delavairess's Lune)

Your OC as a Forgotten God
If your OC was a forgotten god, which sacrificial offering would awaken them?
Use this quiz - Picrew Opt 1 - Picrew Opt 2
This quiz is very artistic, and a lot of fun to go through. I really like this result for River. (She, Yae, and Storm can just sit together in silence, I guess lol)
If she were a deity, I think she would be something of a custodian of lost voices. Throughout her travels, she collects old journals off corpses and dusty shelves in crumbling buildings, treasuring the lost words of the dead and storing them in a sacred library (normal River collects these journals too, and keeps them because she believes that they deserve to be heard and remembered, if only by her). She would provide comfort to those who have had their voice taken from them, or who have not been heard.
I think a lot of people have been tagged already, so consider this an open tag to anyone who wants to participate!
