          “thanks, man.”       appreciative smile was immediate, a hand clapping the other’s shoulder in a show of gratitude and mutual support. while the rest of the team had taken to being less than kind to those who had joined the new directions ( to put it lightly ), the strengthened camaraderie between those who did both football and glee had been an upside to the whole thing. it was nice that the four of them had each other to count on and knew that there were at least three other people who had their backs --- or, at least, that was how finn felt about it, and he could only hope and assume that matt and mike and puck felt that way, too. “i got your back, too. we all gotta stick together.”

       “dude... do you ever know what she’s talking about?” finn is, honestly, confused enough as it is without trying to decipher the things that coach beiste says when she’s angry. trying to keep up with football, glee club, homework, girls... it’s like his mind is in a fog and he’s barely making his way through it. the phrase riding a three-legged horse through quicksand just to get to a cornfield doesn’t make any sense to him.

jesse  knew  that  rachel  had  been  waddling  (  though  he  would  never  say  that  to  her  face  )  through  the  halls  of  mckinley  somewhere.  they  were  in  town  for  one  of  schuester’s  kids  birthdays,  even  if  he  had  worried  that  the  drive  while  pregnant  would  be  too  much  for  her.  but  she  had  looked  at  him  with  the  most  adorable  glare  &  said  that  blaine  &  kurt  would  just  drive  her,  so  he  was  stuck.  he  pokes  his  head  in  the  teacher’s  lounge,  not  finding  rachel,  but  another  familiar  face.  “  matt  ??  “  he  steps  in,  moving  to  the  teacher’s  table,  “  how’s  it  going,  man  ??  it’s  been  a  while.  “  he  held  his  hand  up  to  shake.
