Ok so I’m going to go on a tangent and I plan on making a post where I include screenshots but okay I genuinely think it’s insane that like. We figure out that the monsters grow wings bc of LOVE and on the same page proclaiming that, we see Chris leaning on the bed putting his head against Minami so it’s like. We fr find out they get wings from love and the next oage is literally Chris being affectionate with Minami…. And then later on we see CHRIS START TO GROW WINGS. Bc he’s in the same boat as that dad that killed himself where he didn’t show any signs of infection until he thought of his family aka love…. And we see Chris start growing wings after the convo he has with his robot AI cat where it comments that Chris gets along with Minami and Chris replies that he hopes he does and BAM. WING GROWTH….? And this is all after Chris telling Minami that his attachments (like the one he has to him) is going to keep him alive… and how he asked for some incense bc Minami mentioned he liked the smell…. Like. This is legit confirmation that Chris feels love for Minami… AND WE SEE SMTH LIKE THIS AS EARLY AS VOL 1 where if you look in the panel where Minami tried Chris’ food for the first time and there’s that like huge explosion of like water and flowers and stuff? If you look In the middle. THERES LITERALLY A PAIR OF WINGS. WHICH WE KNOW IS A SYMBOL OF LOVE IN THIS SERIES. And I think that’s so interesting esp with all the hints that like. Minami is part Shojo…? Where he can understand them and I think even speak it? Where we see that panel where Minami says Chris’ name in a black speech bubble and later on mr homophobe comments that Minami made sounds like the monsters do only we know exactly what he said… so like. They’re literally in love like. The narration even says it 😭
