this comic is going to  make me cry

[ava's demon spoilers under the cut]

it's just. ava's struggles with wrathia's influence over her really speak to me. and i really genuinely teared up at the part when ava says "i daydreamed about pushing a button that would make life worth living" because that's pretty much how i felt 24/7 back when i was stuck in the blackest hole of depression. this might sound really lame  but atm i can identify with ava like i've only ever identified with aradia, and i'm only 209 pages in. because i know what it's like to have angry voices in your head that keep telling you you're worthless and a waste of space and should die and i know it's fucking hard

and ava, holy fuck, ava! in spite of having a literal physical presence she managed to fight it and keep it in check because she refuses to let it win and just. wow. what a great character, what a great comic, what a super strong and emotion-inducin g and just overall amazing comic.
