Have you heard of the Gavri and the Bheel tribes in Rajasthan? . When you hear Rajasthan, we all think about Royalty and the Rajput Kings, in fact State of #rajasthan is very distinctive with its indigenous groups & tribes, making it culturally very versatile and different to other areas of #india . Rajasthan is to be experienced not just visited because of its diversity, uniqueness and beauty. . Experience the Gavri, a dance form of festival celebrated by the Bheel #tribes of the #mewar region, a 40-day long celebration in the months of July and September every year. #faith runs strong on the festival, and can be seen in many forms, the Bheel's believe that Goddess Parvati enters the body of the humans and announces the importance of the #festival and it is said that she blesses them, and their reason is fulfilled. To witness the festival is to witness something very special. . The colourful festival sees participants in Gavri play many characters such as animals, Gods, Goddesses, Demons, and Humans portraying the ancient stories according to each character’s role. A unique part of the festival is that the portraying of the characters is all done by men only including all the female characters. . . . Image and note by @serenejourneys . .
