He is the flames that will burn eternally, be forever filled with rage but one that does not hate. That's the kind of person he is. To make him even steep down to loyalty for someone, you ought to make yourself compatible with his fiery whims, or be not someone that can piss him off with aura alone.
❥︎ But once he actually acknowledges you as an ally, especially you, the master, then you can give yourself a pat in the back. Fret not, he won't burn you alive, if anything, if he didn't even like you in the first place, Ashwatthama would've burned his spirit origin right upon being summoned or deployed in his first battle just to escape your whims. Ashwatthama, above all, respects you for your efforts in preserving human order. That alone won his admiration of you.
❥︎ Contrary to how he proclaims himself as or how everyone's impression of him is, Ashwatthama is actually pretty chill to hang out with. He may just look or sound mad, but there's nothing for him to be angry at, all the time. He's just simply born that way now as a servant. He does mellow down when around Parvati, however, so while he does acknowledge the flames of vengeance, there's the good that comes with calmness when off-battle. If you're bothered or worried about his feelings, Ashwatthama does assure you that he's got nothing to be mad at, towards you or anything at all. So don't worry.
❥︎ Once you've bonded and gotten much more closer to him, Ashwatthama does relents more into opening up about his past with you. Ashwatthama is the authentic kind of man. He doesn't mince his words, and whenever he feels strongly about something, he is honest. So, when he vows to protect you, he'll mean it. Even if he may crumble to dust, Ashwatthama will forever burn in your name.
❥︎ But in the field of romance, however, it's largely different. Ashwatthama had sworn himself to be a devoted servant of yours, but the idea of becoming your lover barely would cross his mind. He's satisfied that way, as long as he could protect and serve you. Ashwatthama is on the dense side of love. Should you attempt to show signs or court him initially, you're definitely getting bro-zoned at first. Ashwatthama is probably just going to think that it's you being nice, or has he become your favorite for some reason? You sure do have quite the taste! Bhima is incredibly likable, and even though his appetite is definitely huge, his heart is just as big for those that he's fond of.
