honestly i will never shut up about being african american because we’re a people who have been through so much, so much shit and just the fact we’re still alive and we’re still fighting really touches my heart
we were an abducted people, stripped from our culture and raped/tortured so frequently our fear for our children (spankings, harsh words) is real mental illness is fucking real in the AA community and as much as we dont talk about it makes sense??? seeing how much we’ve gone through
and how much we’ve managed to accomplish despite having literally nothing we saved our people, we made our own culture (and inspired many others) and we help the next generation in black history month we must remember our ancestors who have gone through so much, we must remember them to go forward
we remember thier strengths, hopes and fears and we move on to become what they never could have even dreamed
this black history month we take pride in who we are despite because we are proud of our roots
