Champion or Guardian?: Guardian. Cruella is a vocal member of the Guardians, considering her position and status it's very important for her to express her opinion to the community in general. However, as Headmistress, she tends not to speak of politics during work or with people related to it, unless they take the time to approach her directly. However, she may or may not be involved in spreading the word through alternate means.
Hogwarts, a Personal History: Having always been a fairly skilled witch, Cruella felt like the pride of the De Vil family since she was just a little girl. After all, being born next to an unfortunate squib served as a constant reminder of how low people could fall when being compared to her. Her family had been heavily involved in the wizarding community and was always present in the biggest events and happenings that took place. All that made Cruella appreciate more and more her abilities and potential, and it showed when she joined Hogwarts at age eleven.
Proudly sporting the banner of Slytherin, the girl quickly demonstrated that she was reasonably skilled in most practical magic, only finding difficulty in theoretical classes that she found boring.
A few years after graduation, she found herself taking care of teaching as well, eventually getting known for being rather ruthless while teaching her classes. Through certain influences and hard work, the woman eventually found herself as the Headmistress of the school, and she had to distance herself from the favouritism she had for the Slytherin House and her family's bias against muggle-born wizards. Such a disdain was not to be made public by herself, and she was very much aware.
Her position became a more controversial one as soon as talks were made of revealing the truth of wizards to the world, and she felt like she had to take action. After all, revealing themselves to ordinary muggles would only end up cheapening the wizarding community and forcing them to bow before the so-called leaders of the world, and she didn't want that. She was above such things.
