Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of returning to my alma mater to help with the Swing Choir spring performance. Why Melissa Driscole would ask me to assist her, I will never know. After rehearsals when we sit in her office and she asks for my critiques, I am always taken aback that she values my opinion. And this year, I had the opportunity to hang out with this group of teenagers more than I have in the past; I got to travel with them to Disney World to perform (traveling on a bus I might add). I got to see these young men and women put others first (even if it meant missing a fastpass in Disney to walk your friend to the infirmary), put in a ridiculous amount of work (dancing in multiple parking lots, always past dark, ex: see video), and cheering each other on to bring out the best in their teammates (no example needed, it's a culture they have created). I have grown to care for this group so much and I'm so proud of the performances they've put on this year, but I'm even prouder of the people they are becoming. Mrs. Driscole -- thank you for bringing me along side of you. I don't think you will never know how much it means to me💜💜💜 Seniors -- you will be greatly missed, don't ever forget how to "cut loose and kick off your Sunday shoes".
