We are delighted to share that the Oncology Nursing Seminar, organized by the Indo‑American College of Nursing in association with Basavatarakam Indo‑American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI), was successfully conducted on 21st February 2026. The seminar brought together more than 350 nursing students and professionals from across the two Telugu states, along with clinicians and academic experts, for a full day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
The inauguration was graced by distinguished leaders including Padma Shri Awardee Dr. P. Raghu Ram (Founder, Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation; Director, KIMS‑Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases) as Chief Guest. He was joined by BIACH&RI leadership — Dr. K. Krishnaiah (Chief Executive Officer), Dr. Kalpana Raghunath (Associate Director, Academics), Dr. Phani Koteswara Rao (Medical Superintendent), Shri Alwar Narayanan (Chief Financial Officer), Dr. K. Kalyan Chakravarthi (Deputy Director, Academics) — along with Prof. Ch. Nagamani (Principal, Indo‑American College of Nursing) and Prof. Ivy Dias (Principal). Their presence and guidance set the tone for a day of academic excellence and professional growth.
The seminar featured insightful sessions by an expert panel including Dr. L.M. Chandrasekhara Rao, Dr. M.V.T. Krishna Mohan, Dr. Abubacker Zakir Ali, Dr. Vibhavari Naik, Dr. B. Valli, Dr. Veerendra C Patil, Mr. Joseph John Crasto, and Mrs. Sreevani K. Topics ranged from vascular access devices and oncological emergencies to pediatric oncology care, mindfulness in nursing, nuclear medicine therapeutics, colorectal cancer nursing, and innovations in ambulatory care with ethical considerations for AI in nursing.
This program highlighted the vital role of oncology nurses in delivering compassionate, evidence‑based cancer care and improving patient outcomes across every stage of treatment. With overwhelming participation, rich academic content, and practical insights, the seminar stood out as a meaningful step forward in advancing oncology nursing excellence and collaborative cancer care in the Telugu states.
