I like the idea of people getting super curious about Bucky and like...that's a problem in itself because he works for the CIA.
Would Steve Rogers boyfriend working for top secret government things make some people maybe not want to hire Steve? Maybe there is concern about Hollywood and Government classing or something and the fans think Steve might also be a secret agent.
(Bucky’s FBI, very specialized, but not international)
I’ve considered this from the opposite end of the spectrum. How would being so visible impact Bucky’s job and his desire to get back on his team? Would he get denied because of this whole thing or would they not care? I like to think (haha on ‘like’ because actually no, I don’t exactly LIKE it) that because it’s so public that they’d be scared to call Bucky on something because of being sued for discrimination. I’ve read their FAQ on it and they’re toeing a line that I imagine a lot of american government agencies are toeing - in that they’re trying really hard not to say anything that would piss anyone off, especially because it’s a hot topic atm, and Bucky is highly visible.
What I’m not sure about is whether people being super curious about Bucky is important. How would it impact his ability to do his job if he got recognised by civilians?
(spoiler: It might not matter because I’m not sure Bucky will ever be back to where he was before. I’m heavily considering it not working out for him)
I like the idea of exploring the impact on Steve’s job. I don’t think anyone cares that Bucky is FBI, but if he was CIA - let me ask this: can you say for certain that there aren’t actors who are CIA agents? Tropey, I know, but I kind of love it as far as conspiracy theories go.
In a happier mental image: I imagine Bucky will start working with Steve on his fighting skills, and the way he holds his weapons, etc. He might get asked to be an advisor at one point.
