Hey! So I'm on the search for songs and monologues for college auditions that haven't been overdone. (I'm a soprano). Can you direct me to any specific songs or monologues or shows that would be appropriate for my age to use for college auditions? I know this is kind of a loaded question, but if you just have a few suggestions off the top of your head I would really appreciate it!
Hello!
Songs:
That’ll Show Him from A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
Live Out Loud from A Little Princess
I’ll Know from Guys and Dolls
On The Steps Of The Palace from Into The Woods
Obviously the two Sondheim pieces would be harder, especially the Into The Woods one, but harder songs can be more impressive if you do them well.
Monologues:
Celeste’s Monologue from Transit of Venus
Laura’s Monologue (Page 3) from The Glass Menagerie
And if you need classic monologues:
Julia’s Monologue from Two Gentlemen of Verona
Viola’s Monologue from Twelfth Night
Thank you, good luck!
-Adelaide
