Extremely proud of my fellow creators and my @aigaatbowiestate student board that held it down at the @gsdaasu Black In Design Conference that wrapped up today. They filmed, they documented, they learned, they absorbed and explored the city. When I told the entire audience of design leaders we traveled 12 hours from Baltimore to Boston via train we got the biggest handclap. They got a chance to network with design professionals in the field and also connect with bright and insightful @gsdaasu graduate students! Thank you to @bowiestateuniversity @gsdaasu @____harvardgsd___ @aigadesign @vcdma for the support to get them on this journey! They worked hard and will continue to be and develop into future design leaders ! @gsdaasu thank you opening the door this weekend for amazing designers of action to meet and collaborate! Finally able to pick the brain of @antionettecarroll of @crxlab and hear her break down the values and goals of her organization! I’ve seen @crxlab continue to grow from afar since 2015 and her work in, with and for the community continues to be necessary. This awesome two-hour workshop was everything for me this weekend! Taken from the Just City Lab Workshop description: the workshop allowed us interrogate how design contributes to greater urban and social justice in cities and neighborhoods. We worked in small groups, using the Just City Index, as a tool for analyzing the way design and the design process advances justice. We were also given the chance to discuss work in our own communities and assess the impact we’re making to elevate civic engagement, urban and social justice. Le travail en question : dialogue entre une chorégraphe et un designer Julie Desprairies & David Enon Maison de la culture de Firminy, Site Le Corbusier (12 mars au 9 avril) Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne 2017

Au centre, le travail et ses mutations. Autour, des objets qui génèrent des gestes qui produisent des objets ou des gestes qui produisent des objets qui génèrent des gestes.

Une chorégraphe et un designer s'emparent de ce Looping.

Un designer qui rencontre une chorégraphe, a priori ça produit un spectacle et des objets. Mais ce qui nous rapproche, c’est une même attention portée au contexte de production des pièces ; de danse, de design. Et une même obsession de nécessité : ne peuplons pas le monde de danses, d’objets superflus. Pratiquons l’économie de gestes et de matière, puisons dans ce qui est déjà là pour être utiles aux personnes concernées. Mouvements et objets infra-ordinaires ; danse et design in situ.

De septembre 2016 à mars 2017, le Site Le Corbusier a accueilli notre présence régulière ; nous avons collecté auprès des personnes qui y travaillent ou des personnes en lien avec ce patrimoine, des attitudes de danseur et de designer ; nous avons fabriqué à partir de cette matière une exposition hybride mi-chorégraphique, mi-designée ; nous partageons aujourd'hui avec vous des expériences de design dansé ou de danse designée. Outre les travailleurs des lieux, sont associées à ce projet des étudiantes de l’Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d’Angers.
