Also, unrelated to preceding, and maybe missing the point, but what do you make of the vague implication that Bidwell and Mr. Reddy, Saxton's assistants he left in charge, with their signature color scheme, are about to start the whole damn feud over again?

I suspect that Reddy and Bidwell were developed before they'd settled on what the exact relationship was between RED, BLU, TF Industries and Mann Co., beyond the fact that they were all in some way secretly in bed together behind the scenes; their color schemes were probably meant as a visual shorthand for that entanglement. The idea of Hale's thoughtless handoff kicking off the same kind of eternal feud that The Admin engineered deliberately out of spite could be a neat parallel if that's indeed what they're going for- an encapsulation of the distinction between Hale and Helen as characters. But a new RED/BLU war doesn't really have the juice to carry a sequel or anything like that.
