Welcome to New Eden
She's A Bad Mama Jama
*Engineering School under Mr. Wilford*
Mr. Wilford: (clears throat and gestures with his cigar) I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday on what we learned during the week will now take place on Monday before we've learned it.
Alex:
Shiloh:
Emilia:
Literally everyone:
Mr. Wilford: I know, genius isn't it? But seeing as today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest. Pencils ready.
Mr. Wilford: *heaves himself up from his desk* Now, today I shall need an assistant. Alexandra?
Alex: Yes, Dubs?
Mr. Wilford: Well don't just stand there, come and give me a hand.
(Alex joins him at the counter)
Mr. Wilford: Here we have have nitric acid, glycerin, and a special mixture of my own. Together it's horrible, dangerous stuff; blows you up. But mixed together in the right way, as only I know how, what do you think it makes?
Alex: I don't know.
Mr. Wilford: Of course you don't know. You don't know because only I know. If you knew and I didn't know, then you'd be teaching me instead of me teaching you. And for a student to teach their teacher, like another Cavill I know, is presumptuous and rude. Do I make myself clear?
Alex: ...yeah, I guess.
Mr. Wilford: Good. Now, mixed together in the right way, these three highly dangerous ingredients make the finest bunion remover in the world. The trick is to pour them in equal amounts. Now, Alex, you take the nitric acid and the glycerin, and I'll take my own special mixture. You ready?
Shiloh: *raising her hand* Umm, excuse me, Sir? But shouldn't you at least put on goggles or something?
Mr. Wilford: Certainly not. The Headwoods keep their PPE under lock and key. It was hard enough swiping the nitric acid and glycerin from their refrigerator.
Shiloh: But it just seems. Really dangerous, Sir.
Mr. Wilford: My child, when you have bunions as big as mine you learn that all of life is perverse and dangerous and you have to do whatever it takes for a little comfort where you can. Now, ready Alex? Three, two...pour.
(BOOM)
What was the plan with Big Alice? It's set up as a supply train but did the freeze happen so quickly that they couldn't even think about manning it? Why have they ignored its existence for 7 years when they clearly needed it?
Were they just going to swap crews every 6 months or something?
More to the point given that Snowpiercer and Big Alice are capable of running together seemingly indefinitely (or else Melanie cocked up big time with the sticky charge), why didn't they just join the trains together from the start and have an extra 40 cars of supplies and an engine with boosters???
Alex: *minding her own business*
Wilford: do you know what an oubliette is?
